I've seen older cars have the little nubs that stick out of the lens of their headlights... what in god's name is it for? Whats its function?

im pretty sure it is structural because they were made majorily out of glass

Comment 2 - 08 tc headlight supposedly have it and they're plastic.

i always thought it was for when someone would put the lens on the ground, so it wouldnt get scratched up or something... why you would put it lens-down on the ground is beyond me.

It was the casting point on old lenses, when the glass was poured into molds..why they have them now I dont know. :mrviolet:

The three nipples are for headlamp aiming


You place a level thats held on by suction cups then adjust the headlight to level. The tabs are uniform to mounting the headlamp adjuster on every car.

I haven't seen these "nipples" on the 08 tc, I did see the bulge for the projector though

hahahah i was actually just going to say that... every time this comes up in my email i think it is spam because it has nipples in the title!
