hey guys i need a lil help...I'm doing research on short ram intakes for 06 Scion tCs.

has anyone bought intakes like this..or from these ppl??

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BLACK-SHORT-RAM-AIR-INTAKE-FILTER-04-05-06-SCION-tC_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ38634QQihZ005QQitemZ 150125576397QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

I'm not trying to get the biggest boost in hp or sound, cuz i know that is expensive... but of course generic intake from autozone ($52) won't work because there isn't a MAF sensor hole. That leads to another question... what if I didn't use the sensor at all. If anyone knows about this, please help me. Thanks

I think your car would start and then immediately shut off.

I think that is what Toyota said one time when asked "What if the MAF sensor was not working."

That is exactly what will happen.

yepp I concur with those above.

I have experiance in the matter as well lol. Lets just say attempting to install your CAI at 3 am was not the smartest decision on my part.

You need a MAF sensor... Without it your car will go into limp mode.

You can get a Do-it-yourself intake, though. Go to Pep Boys or Autozone or wherever and get the Spectre PowerAdder piping. Get the Universal MAF kit and drill a hole for your MAF sensor. It works.

Save yourself some drama and possible CEL, and use a name brand product.
