I have designed and installed an Auto door lock mod... Doors lock and unlock automatically and opening any door resets the system.

Can't this feature be turned on by the dealer?

What the heck Bobo, you an automotive electronical engineer or what? LOL

Nice work... Me, never would do that... I hate the auto lock doors, the seat belt beeper, any damn audible warnings auto lock, open, close mind control car features... But I'm old, so electric locks were all the shiatz at one point in my life... LOL

I do love automatic headlights though... got any magic up your sleeve for a mod for that?

Actually, I've been toying with the headlight idea for a while, but have not nailed down what I want. I do want the thing to turn off when the key is off instead of beeping. That I think is really dumb. Give me your ideas on what you want to see with that mod, and I might do it next. Thnks!

hmm. the 08 xB has this feature already. I would of thought that all the Scions had it as well. I found out how to turn it on in my owners manual. the doors lock at 19mph.

Damn Mama cars... LOL What if I want to jump out while it's moving as it just burst into flames huh, huh??? LOL

Bobo... would be awesome if we had a daytime running light feature and then auto off with the key for sure. That way if someone forgot to turn them off, they wouldn't run down their battery. Problem is how to do that and have an override so that the times when you want the lights on with the car not running you can do that... Hmmmm... might involve adding a three position switch inline somewhere?

Yo Kary,
I forgot to mention, the XD is a CHOICE subject for the auto locking feature, as both the front doors can be opened from the inside even if the lock is on. Just the outside latches will not open the door, but inside it's transparent. The BACK doors are totally locked, but that should be no problem. It likens itself to an electronic child protection system. One tap on the driver's door panel unlock button, and the back doors are unlocked too. so, you could , in case of a fire, jump out and not cook...... LOL

"running Lights" - Both headlights and fogs, only heads, or only fogs...
It'd be hard to make it switchable on-the-fly, but designed in, should be possible. I'd still have to check tho.
still thinkin.......

A lot of cars do that now. Afaik th tC always has. Also I'm pretty sure the past 3 camry's(98, 02, 07) my parents have owned all had that.

I hear ya... no kids... ;) At least not any young enough to worry about them being locked in... LMAO

Just old school, if I want em locked, I'll push da button... loved that it was one of the few cars that did not auto lock....

No need for on the fly. The fogs I run are illegal so I have them switched separately anyways. Just a feature that if you leave em on and turn the car off, they go off when you turn the key off after 10 second delay... Had to throw a little challenge at ya Bobo! ;)

Hey Kary, how about an auto disable on your strobes and underbodies? So you don't drive 10 miles home with em on again!

Good idea! LOL But the traffic moved out of my way nicely, pulled off on the shoulder... I kind of liked that screw up! ;)
