Thanks to Jon, THE MFIC, I got a sneak preview of the new xB as it came off the truck. Jon said they ordered with every option they could and that it would sticker for around $20 Grand.

Even though it was on the truck with a Prius, a Hybrid Camry, an Avalon and a Tundra, due to the fanfare and anticipation, they (the dealership) bi-passed all the other cars on the shipment and rolled the xB into the shop to check it in first (and so I could get better pictures.)

....more pics to come.

yeah, believe it or not, it's been dry all day and started to poor down rain just as the transporter was pulling onto the lot.

Thanks for posting the pics Toby!

I took it out for a spin a little later to make sure everything was working properly. I like the new xB's a whole lot better now than I thought I would.

I think thats a legitimate complaint, they changed the name of the xA, why not change the xB? It's a completely different car it should have a different name. The thing that gave the xB its character was its boxines I think, and that is gone.

Exactly!

I dont think Scion would ever drop the xB name. Thats what put them on the map.

i don't think they needed to drop the line. they could have called the new xB an xE and kept the old xB body with subtle enhancements. (i know, they're only supposed to have a 3 model line up.) like Jon said, they eliminated everything that made the xB so unique; square body, compact yet roomy, and a small fuel efficient powerplant.

oh well, i guess i shouldn't complain since they made our body style xB's more valuable as collectors.

Thats how I see it. It keeps ours unique. Instead of rehashing the design over and over.

we went and saw one at the dealership here and it was kind of disappointing. the pictures make it look a lot better. if that makes any sense.....

If anyone wants to come drive it, feel free. We're keeping it until we get another one like we are supposed to. It's parked right in front of the building so you can't miss it.

What were the options?

One of our local dealerships put all available options on one and it was over $24,000! Thats without the 5-axis lip kit or TRD supercharger....

Probably around $29,500!

Lets say $2,300 for the kit plus paint. The supercharger would probably run around $2,500 - $3,000 installed.

If the supercharger is around the price of the tC sc it will list for $3500 installed.

Well, after finally seeing it in person and driving it around yesterday, I have to agree that its unfair to call it an xB. Its just a completly different car.

It's interesting reading this thread and my opinion is that the new xB is cool looking but it's not an xB; kinda falls into the realm of a PT Cruiser and HHR.
