speaker crackling

Hey guys I have been driving around listening to my stereo and randomly my rear back hatch speakers are making some crackling sound. Not sure what is causing this. I checked the connection to the back of the speakers and it seems fine. Not sure if they are blown and are making this sound. Any idea?

static is one possibility if your listening to the radio. I have had this same problem with my rear door speakers and it wasn't nothing. When you say "rear back hatch speakers" are you talking about subs or the rear door speakers.

im talking about rear door speakers not subs.

If it was blown though wouldn't it make the sound all the time. This only happens like once a week or less. It would just come on randomly and than go away.

if its radio it could be static or the speaker is clipping. if its a cd then its clipping
