So ,Im looking into buying a tC. Went to cars.com to find something used, and found this http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail.jsp;?tracktype=usedcc&searchType=21&pageNumber=0&numResultsPerPage=50&largeNumResultsPerPage=0&sortorder=descending&sortfield=PRICE+descending&certifiedOnly=false&criteria=K-%7CE-%7CM-_423_%7CD-_7656_%7CN-N%7CR-30%7CI-1%7CP-PRICE+descending%7CQ-descending%7CZ-80526&aff=national&paId=221246700&recnum=0&leadExists=true at a dealership...

$19,000 for a stock 2006!!! What the hell? I was looking at a 2007 last month, and they run $17.600-ish...

I went to look at it tonight, and the price tag said it was marked down from $21,000!!!!!

I really want to go there on monday and ask them wtf they are thinking. Thats insane:fu:

The resale values on tCs are very high. Most of the time higher than a new one.

Just get a new one.

So, how is it that Scions appreciate in value, when most new cars depreciate in value? This seems counter-intuitive.

Yeah but that is how much the dealer will sell them for, not how much you will get selling it to them or trading it in. They will take about 9000 for it or close to 12000 sometimes. Wich is BS if you ask me.. Death to KBB and birth to the Black Book DEVIL... There should be a law against that. Period.

If i was to sell i would sell it personally and under what they ask at the delaership for a used one...

Good Luck,,,

Yes, Supply & Demand.

The car is hard to get while new. You most likely have to order it. Plus there's pure pricing to keep the price down.

When a dealership sells it use, they can set whatever price they want.

^^ yup. and especially for a tC. a celica with the options the tC has stock @ 17k, was more in the mid 20k range.

This is one of the greatest things about Scions. Since the cars are on a pure price setting, a 2005 tC will be about the same value come 2010.
