Same. I have a Fujita CAI (not the SRI). It's a pain to install, and it likes to rub against the metal in the engine bay....and it sounds bad ass.

I've heard a few times that injen and fujita intakes are the same. I was told that some guys left injen and started fujita. Looking at the two parts side by side I could believe it. They are the only intakes I've seen that do the step down for the MAF.
Edit: Forgot to say that I have the injen intake. I've run it both SRI and CAI. I love the sound. I've been asked if I'm turboed before because of the whistle of air in the metal tubes.

Where is a good place to order one? As far as do we have any sponsers or anywhere to get a little bit of a discount? I found some on Ebay for about 265 but most websites are 299. I dont like ordering from ebay unless I have to...
DeadCannon

I got my injen for 265 from jscspeed.com in may of last year.
Went to check the price and it looks like they don't carry the injen or fujita.

The cheapest I have found is direct from injen and its 279.99. Does anyone know if we get a discount from them or what the coupon code would be?

in all honestly they are all good. but personal reference id say go with wat you want. injen yes has dyno proven. and so has weapon-r. if your going to do a intake manifold swap and use weapon-r's I.M. then get the S.W.I. from them. the down side i will say is i would get the air box for it. for performance wise yes, for look no. the box will help get just cold air.
but like i said. go with what you want. and look at numbers too b4 buying. u never kno.

I am probably looking more for looks then performance. I liked the weapon-R but the headers m.s.r.p. is $600. I dont have or even want to spend that kind of money on just one part. also, from what i have read, on the headers i will probably go w/DC Sports. They are the only one with the bracket on the bottom that still mounts up like the stock header. I hear some of the others move a little and could cause the engine weld to break

I'm with Hammered, I'm looking for a Injen CAI. I have a 2010 tC, and the only injen CAI's i have seen are on ebay for about $300. I'm wondering if any shops that sponsor scikotics and have a discount on CAI's...

fujita FTW i had one on my 08 it also makes that sweet whistling sound
as for headers weapon r mmw are THE BEST i had them also
BUT if you wanna try and search for a Tsudo header is a replica of the mmw
theyre just hard to find since weapon r sued them cuz of it
but they cost ALOT less :)

So, I thought that most all CIA and SHI where about the same.. what makes one have better HP gain than another?

I like my fujita, got it brand new on e-bay for $150, love that or best offer option . The rubbing on the hole the cai feeds through can be eliminated with the doc-I panel.

Ok, short ram vs cold air? what are the gains and losses? I considered the Weapon R s.r.i. for a while but then started this to see what everyone likes. Which one would allow more air? and is it possible to give it too much air?

youre gonna get about the same amount of air, but the cold air is better for your performance, short ram will give you hotter air. its not enough to notice a big difference. i have the injen intake and you can run it either short ram or cold air. any time you have a cold air intake you want to get a hydroshield or bypass valve to avoid hydro-locking your shit. and the too much air thing, ive heard different things. too much cant hurt, too much can hurt, so i dont know.

Check out this link about the Weapon R SRI. Also, the Weapon R has a better air filter. http://weapon-r.com/english/index.php?main_page=page&id=31&chapter=0

I'm no expert but my guess is that you aren't going to over load your MAF with out being boosted. However much airflow you gain with an intake should be easily compinsated for by the ecu.

I will add to, I have had an Injen intake on the wife's TC for a year and a half now. It has worked like a champ and she loves it to death! Speaking of which I better clean that filter!

Thanks for all of the input so far guys. I think I am going to order the Injen one now. How much of a problem is the hydro-locking?
How much is a Hydroshield for one?
ScIkO*FaErY
11-24-2009, 02:27 PM
hydrolocking is pretty uncommon
you dont need the hydrosheild or any of that crap
because unless youre gonna be driving thru a lake
and completely sumbmerging your filter youre not gonna have any problems
ive driven through some damn nasty rain/snow storms with nothing protecting my filter
and been fine

but yea dont waste youre money on a hydroshield...
unless ur taking the tC swimming its pointless :)
limitlessbcp
11-24-2009, 08:36 PM
yea no need to buy a hydro shield unless you really are that paranoid..and if you are you probably shouldn't be running a CAI in the first place. lol

no issues, i have had my injen cai for almost 4 yrs with no issues. the last 2 yrs with the kami kit. the filter is more exposed to the rain ,dirt with the body kit.
basically the filter is visible from the one hole in the bumper(you cant see it in pic.)

my girlfriends xB has a C.A.I. on it and it also has the other bypass filter piece but it still stucks up water and stalls out. I didnt put it in so I am not sure what was done wrong. Hers is lowered and so is my tC. I guess next time it rains I will drive around and then see how wet it is in the hole where the filter goes
