I've been having some tire and brake light issues...of course after I'm out of warranty. I'm hoping someone might have some ideas before I take it in.

First of all, last winter my low tire light came on and has never gone off. I've just left it figuring there was a sensor screwed up somewhere. I check the tires regularly and turn the light off...five miles later it's back on again.

Now, maybe a month ago or so, my e-brake light is coming on when it shouldn't. There has to be something triggering it...it comes on when I accelerate in 1st, then usually goes off when I take off the gas to shift, then goes back on in 2nd, etc. Sometimes it comes on in 3rd and 4th, sometimes it doesn't. A couple times it's stayed on solid from 1st to 3rd, and sometimes it doesn't come on at all. I don't know if this could just be a wire problem somewhere (hopefully) or a bigger computer problem (please, no).

On top of that there's a weird noise in the back somewhere...to me it sounds like something in a speaker, but of course it's making me a liar and only does it when I'm alone in the car.

Thanks for reading and thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer...I really do like my car, but it's getting really annoying!

the tire light its probably on cause its not been reset properly, after you adjust the tire pressure always make sure to turn it off and after its off press the reset buttom and hold it until it flashes 3 times and it should stay off. it wasnt until 07 i believe that they start putting TPMS sensors,on the years before that the light works off the ABS. and you brake light it probably coming on cause the car its probably goin low on brake fluid which its most like caused by your brake pads that aregetting low.
hope that helps

im having the same prob with the BRAKE light (not E brake light). i have filled up my brake fluid and it is still doinin it just not as much. the light could also mean that your brakes are goin out but check ur fluids its the easiest

while we are on this, I bought a set of rims off a guy that had an xD with the sensors (he had his switched over). when I put them on my tC he said my light would probably come on. after i got home and took my tires out of the car and drove around, no light. about 2 months went by and no still no light. Then one day it came on. i checked and one tire was a little low. i put air in it. The light wouldnt turn back off. sometimes when i am driveing it will flash, sometimes its on solid. any ideas?

Thanks for the help. I had thought it was probably something electrical, so I'm glad to know it's not. I also got out the manual and we'll check the brakes and fluid when we change the oil this weekend. As far as the tire light, I don't think it ever blinks three times, I turn the key on and hold the reset until it goes off. I tried again today and held it for several seconds and it didn't come on again yet, but I've only gone a couple of miles home from work, so I'll see what it does tomorrow. I've never known much about the mechanical parts of the car, so again, thanks for the help!
