I am thinking of replacing the stock speakers with some upgraded Blaupunkt ones and wondering if I need to get an amp or not. I would also get a subwoofer but I dont want the trunk taken up with that.
Here is what I have in the list so far:
The amp:

The sub:

The 6.5 inchers:

The 5.25 inchers:

Comments? Any recommendations?

Well for starters I am not going out for all out power and loudness. I listen to music llike you can find at www.beatport.com (http://www.beatport.com) so I want my audio geared for that. Blaupunkt is quite well known that is why I went with those. As for budget...well show me what you got and I will see if I can take it from there.

Yeah I did see those....but one...they are too expensive....two...it seems like the specs are the same between the 2 of them...thats why I ignored those a bit. What kind of amps and what kind of sub would be recommended?

how much trunk do you want?
how loud do you want?
do you wanna keep your spare tire or sink the amps into the floor?

well i would help you but i can get you a meh system for like 500 or a crazy system for like 5000. it all depends on how much you want to spend.

I can go without the spare tire....but for the trunk....I think the bass module that you can purchase with the tC I will go max as large as that. Trunk space is a bit useful for me. Does that work? And as for the budget, lets see....I will go as high as the high end speakers that was linked by noTCed.
Thanks for the help guys. I just dont want a stupidly loud system that will drive me deaf and annoy the other car drivers and rattle my car loose. I want a good all around powerful system with clarity basically.

Are you planning on running an amp for your mids and highs as well as your sub

Yes I would like to have an amp...since I am totally n00b at this....would I require 2 amps? I saw one polk audio amp that had 4 channels @ 100W each....and that would be driving the speakers correct? And I saw another amp that was 500W @ 1 channel and that be driving the sub is it?
What sub would you recommend?
Nebster

you'll have two amps one for the front and rears (4 channel) and one for the sub. it depends how much punch you want. if you're looking for good SQ and a little stealthy look check this out.

that is a loaded enclosure with a 10" from ed it would take care of the sub then you just need a couple amps and the interior speakers you were already looking at at you will be good to go

That sounds good to me. Thanks for the help. I believe the 10 incher should be more than enough bass for me.
Just curious but the bass diameter just indicates how much air it can move correct and thus how loud the bass can be?
