i know, i could probably do a search and dig through all the posts & come up with the info i'm wanting....call me lazy.

intake: short ram or CAI? best for under $200.
exhaust: what sounds really good on a 4 banger? i know it's not flowmaster.
springs: best for a budget build, 2" drop or less?


that's it. all opinions are appreciated. these are the things i'm concentrating on modding first, besides wheels, but i've got that covered.

well we're not SL so i could care less.

intake: people really like k&N for the xb and some people have AEM but more people are happy with the k&n.
exhaust: strup. its not the cheapest exhaust out there but we get a discount so its less expensive.
springs: tanabe are whats popular right now and you can find them for like 120-140 ish so thats not bad.

Intake: You can buy a ebay intake for 20 and get a real filter. Most ebay intakes are direct knock offs of the real thing. Just cheaper filters and no warranty.
Springs: you can get a set of megan racing springs for a hundred with a two inch drop.

I had the cheap ebay Short-ram and didnt like it. I now run a Injen CAI.

Exhaust: I got a DC sports and it sounds good from outside the car. Inside its a little loud.

yeah, and look at Chad's intake. it's great and not very expensive. i'm thinking of getting the same brand for the tC.

I like the injen short ram
strup exhaust and since you want that low of a drop meagan racing springs have a very high tension rate and their cheap I still like the TRD springs better though.

maybe it's just me but i have heard an awful lot of complaining about some of teins lower end lowering springs especially on the echo racing forums. The top guy pushing 223whp wraith says unless you have tein custom make coilovers which he actually has them do go with something else. I know some peole like tein i know their coilovers are pretty good but I have not heard alot of good things about their lowering springs I have heard of sagging problems ect ect. I would say either meagan being the strongest spring rates for the XA or XB also the cheapest. TRD which are my personal favorite because you get a smooth ride and good handling or maybe somone else has some input. I have honestley heard way to may complaints about tein lowering springs. I am sure it's like anything there are good runs and bad runs. even the TRD springs will settle to a 2 inch drop after about a year and a half of use but they still don't sag. there are so many companies out there to choose from honestley for the money meagan racing is hard to beat. The ride is a little harder than the TRD because of the increased spring rate and since i have a bad back i took them off but we have alot of guys in our area who run them and who had previous brands besides tein and i have never heard one single complaint about meagan racing springs on any forum whatsoever so they must be doing something right. I have heard of problems with tein sagging hotchkis sagging and just plain failing over time. I have only heard one complaint about the TRD springs and i think the guy just was expecting a stiffer ride. i have heard over a dozen complaints about tein.

Springs I have not heard any complaints about meagan racing,Tanabe,progress technologies. i have only ever heard one complaint about TRD if it was me the best buy for the money and the highest spring rate are the meagans. coilovers are a whole diffrent ballgame and of course this is just my opinion and otehr peole may have a diffrent opinion.
