Yeah I haven't sold it yet but I started my car today and the CEL came on (my car is stock) so I ran to autozone to get the OBD II codes:
P043E x2
P043F x2
P2401 x2
P2402 x2
P2419 x2
And doing some research there is a TSB on 2006 scion which I am unlucky I guess.
EG047-06 M.I.L. ON DTC P043E, P043F, P2401, P2402, & P2419
8/1/2006 - 2006 model year Scion xA vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VIN shown
Some 2006 model year Scion xA vehicles may exhibit M.I.L. “ON” with DTCs P043E,
P043F, P2401, P2402, and P2419 stored. The fuel tank filler pipe cover holder has been improved to prevent water intrusion into the Key Off EVAP pump module.
Off to the dealership in the morning.

Translation: car check engine light came on......got it diagnosed at autozone....researched on the internet.......found my problem was already known by TOYOTA (which is what I copied directly from a website that reports service bulletin's)....will take it into the dealer to get fixed.
The five codes shown are codes that will come up on a scanner (x2 indicates the number of times that code is shown) at your dealer or where ever you service your car if you notice a check engine light. These codes are to identify you to the same problem I am having if your codes happen to match.
Just giving the heads up to my peeps.
As mentioned the problem is with fuel tank filler pipe cover holder allowing water into the EVAP module which is causing emission sensors in the car to signal a problem.
Is it driveable??? I dunno the car ran fine other than the CEL.

Thanks for the heads up and translation! What month did you get your 06 in? I got mine in Oct. so I wonder if they had already fixed that.

1. Nope only the 2006
2. I bought mine January 06 but it was made December 05 (got it of the lot)
It is a warrantied item and doesn't affect the operation of the car.

but didn't they only change the body style of the 06??? Or could it just be a production defect for that month they were made or something like that?

They didn't realize they needed some cover on the fuel neck??? (I think) so those of us who hit water cause our emission sensor box in the rear to malfunction when the fix it the get a cover for where ever the water is getting in additon to a new box.

I had all of these codes come on after one of our famous Humboldt County downpours and they had to order all of the parts, took two weeks to get the parts (during Christmas time). I have only had my 06 xA since May but I am at 35,000 miles already and the warranty is scary close to gone. They replaced the pipe cover holder the canister and the filter, no codes since then.
