Oh, does it go by weight? because i had some stuff on it and it was off...the seatbelt was on, so i know it "sensed" something was there.

I think it has a weight sensor too. But Im not 100% sure. I know there is a bunch of stuff wired under that seat.

it might need to be a specific amount of weight to turn on...

it's triggered by the amount of weight. so if someone puts a small child in the seat, they wont be killed by the airbag exploding in their face.

Has to have like 75 lbs on the sensor to turn the airbag on :pilot:

The sensor is on the left-front section. You can find it if you feel around. My backpack trips is all the time.

curiousity was killing me so i went out and got my owner's manual. it doesn't give an actual weight, it just says "a person of adult size". damnit, i still don't know. :wallb:

I think it's a lot less than that. I've had a heavy backpack on the seat before and the "no seatbelt on the passenger? light up thingy came on. So I'm guessing around at least 15-25lbs. I've pushed down on it with my hand just to show people too, and I'm a weakling when it comes to upper body strength.

the 75 is for the airbag...under that will show the seatbelt...even just resting on it...

Ahh, I see, that makes a little more sense, I thought the two were tied in together, like better put your seatbelt on or else you're gonna get a whole lot more airbag in the face.
