heres the problem: i was drivin my b around yesterday and everything seemed fine, i went to a friends to wire in my solenoids for my shaved doors, when i tried to leave it was idling very rough. we pulled it back in to look things over, but the only thing we fucked with was my alarm. started it back up and everything sounded fine... until i got back on the road and i could only take it up to 3000 rpms before it sounded like it was hitting the rev limiter and coughin like it had a case of pnemonia. has anyone else come across this problem? and if so how would i go about correciting it?

that would be the MAS/MAF sensor. im 100% positive on it, you might want to see if the stealership would replace it under warrnaty.

I was just going to mention you to him. Hank had mentioned you had a similar problem with yours and managed to correct the problem.

yup.. is like hitting fuel cut at 3 grands, the ecu is not reading the air coming in therefore limiting itself to 3 grand running on limp mode..

Most likely the maf sensor agreed, however just check the tension on the wire, reseat it in the CAI/SRI if you have one, and also do an ECU reset... There's also the remote possibility that somehow when you were jacking with the alarm you short/grounded the BCU which could have sent a charge through the electrical system somehow... Something similiar happened on another car my "expert audio friend" was working on.. he shorted the BCU and it ended up blowing a fuse or shorting out the system and his car wouldn't even start... some troubleshooting and fuses later he was up and running.. good luck and let us know what it is..
Also if you get a chance run an ODBII Scanner on it... and just check the codes.

if the ecu would have gotten spooked by been shorted while working on the car, the problem would have fix itself. OBD2 run test when the car is first started and also when is shut off, if the readings that the ecu is getting are ok, then it returns back to normal getting out of the limp mode. The sensor is the culprit. when the sensor is burned, there is no signal coming from it. i do honestly think is something to do with those sensors, since mine went out after i disconnected the battery while looking for a bolt and when i connected the battery back up i did it backwards, is suppose to be pos then neg. i did neg then pos.

Yeah but those are also the same lights I had when I had a pinhole in my charcoal canister seal. Took the dealership awhile to find that one! Mine was also running like poopie when that happened. :(

yeah so the dearlership is a bunch of ignorant pencil pushing fat ass lazy motherfuckers that will do everything within their limited power to fuck you over every chance they get. FUCK EM!! i took the car in this morning after talking to them on the phone and getting everything lined out to bring it in. after sitting there for 2 damn hours they call me up to tell me that my aftermarket "intake manifold" AKA intake to those of us that know what the hell we are talking about voided my warranty somehow and that they couldnt cover the MAF sensor under the warranty. after working the graveyard shift and not having slept in a day n a half i was just a lil agitated about this, so they make me wait for atleast another hour to talk to someone else about this. this guy proceeds to tell me that yes they will fix it under the warranty but bc my car has been in and out of the shop and went back today with no front bumper they cant do it bc i could break/ damage it on the way from the dealership to the body shop... that is understandable to a certain degree, but to make someone wait over 3 damn hours to tell them that is bullshit and still not have gotten a single thing accomplished.
