Those of you who are sitting flush, whether it be to the top of your tire or the outside of your wheel, do you guys have problems rubbing?
When I bought my 18x8's with 235/40's, I didn't really specifiy an offset, and I think what I got is a bit too much. I'm sitting on stock suspension right now and if I have enough weight in my car, I'll rub pretty easy on slight bumps. It doesn't seem like it's rubbing much, but still am. This is in the back only also.
I'm really wanting to lower it, probly with just TRD's, but I don't want to if I'll rub with say 1 person with me. So how do you guys get around that? Roll your fenders?

You can roll and pull your fenders for some extra clearance.

How big of a job is that? I've seen it done with the rolling tool or w/e on youtube but I also heard youve gotta be real careful not to crack the paint and stuff. How much would a shop or something charge to do that?

roll your fenders and add alittle camber. if you keep your toe at 0, then your tires should wear out any faster than normal

I've read a little bit about wheel stuff, but I have no idea how to do that lol.

well, its probably not something "you" would do. first i would roll the fenders, if that does it...then your done. if you continue to rub, look into sus components that will allow you to run more camber, but just adding acouple - degs, you should be able to clear. when you get it aligned, add the camber and tell the person doing the alignment to set the toe to 0. should keep tire wear to a minimum. and lastly, running a stretched tire could help, maybe something one size smaller in width would work

Yeah smaller tires would definitely help. I regret getting 8" wide wheels but I asked around and everyone said it would fit without issues. But oh well. If I can make it clear with no issues then I'll be even happier.

I'm running 18x8's and I'm pretty fine. I have a 215/35 tire though. And I have rolled and hammered my fenders pretty well flat. And I've added a bit of camber, prob around -2. I rub occasionally, but nothing too bad.

well for one... 18's are HUGGGEEE for a tc. if u have 18'd with stock suspension and ur rubbing its either 2 reasons, your tires have no stretch, and/or your offset is wrong. you can use an eastwood fender roller which is not hard at all just make sure you use a heat gun so the paint soesnt crack. u can rent them from me and i will ship it to you about $50 for 4 days. or u can contact tirerack.com they do it as well but more expensive. if u want to go low with no problems the best fitment ive seen on a tc is 17x8 +22 offset with 205/40 with -2/-3 camber in the rear with a fender roll. adjustable suspension(coilovers) are optimal but lowering springs with fresh shocks will do the job.

Well I have got some 18x8s on my car, with a +37 offset. My tires are 225 40 18s. I also have my car slammed on Raceland coilovers. :D My car rubbed quite a bit at first, I rolled my fenders with the Eastwood roller, and then did a little more hammering :blue: and I cut the bumper cover mount in each wheel well and added a few zip ties for support lol
Currently looking into adding a little more camber to get absolutly no rubbing. I will soon get some new tires, 205 40 18s possibly, but been debating going with a 215 or 35 series... I also have some 20mm spacers I'll put on the rear, but I'll def have to raise my car up... :(

I am/was as flush as it gets at 17x8.5 +42 on my xD. Going to have to go back though, sense I have a weight issue with my car now <_<.
Anyways, shops can rolls them, but is seems scions (At least the xD) have the pumper over the wheel, causing a problem. Going Wed morning to a shop to roll fenders, will let ya know how much they wanted, to give you a ball park.
