i was interested in having something to use as a hood prop for shows instead of opening the hood completely. i was just wondering what you guys and gals are using for yours.

ok, i just did some digging and found my other set so i have a total of 8 springs now.
4 small back ones and 4 big front ones.

now that i am thinking about it, I can probably get my hands on a couple of sets of xb springs. I dont know if they threw them away or not

and any idea what the shipping would be?

Ryan.. To do this right.. You need to get the aftermarket shocks like are used on the back hatch.. Then you get these rods.... You will never need to use your stock hood prop when you want it all the way up.. It would close like your rear hatch too.. Pshhhh, click... lolz..

Ryan. I am working on a rod for the stock hoods. not easy though. they are HEAVY!!!! for the time being I went down to WalMart, and bought a $3 curtain rod. I used Half of it.. works pretty good.

got some of these on my car and i like them a lot. it fun to take it to the dealer and they look for the rod that holds up the hood then they realize that they dont need it. it does not open up all the way as with the rod though which is fine by me.

also have to watch out for windy days, after awhile it might close on you

Andrew, have you started the powdercoating yet? and could you just make the tC set with 4, one as an extra or for the hood.. I think the same size for the hood would work well.. no need for added length when the NRG props dont open fully anyway...

Im planning on getting both, NRG props and your Butcher Rod's...

I was supposed to meet with Cory last Friday about the pricing on the powder coating, but I had the damn flu.. I will this Thursday or Friday though. and Yes you can get a set of 4. :) the rods work great with hood struts.

Cool, I was playing with the secret set that you sent to atlanta the other day on our last "get together" for the secret thing... I like how you can lock the car and it locks them in to position and you cant open the doors...
