I wanted to put this post on this forum this adresses alot of carbon fiber products on the market. First there is a carbon fiber shortage in the nation I have worked with kevlar carbon fiber and fiberglas for years. buying a hood totaly in carbon fiber would cost about a thousand dollars so to make them affordable they either incorporate fiberglass or kevlar most often fiberglass and sometimes they use a fiberglass weave that you cannot tell apart from carbon fiber this has been going on for years there is no true carbon fiber piece unless you have it specially made and pay out the yang. so it's just some food for thought alot of the hoods you see breaking down and cracking is caused by fiberglass being incorporated into them. fiberglass doesn't bond with carbon fiber well and the fiberglass that looks like carbon fiber will only last a year or two if it is cured correctley. just something to think about when buying pieces they are for looks only. that being said motor-fx makes some of the best hoodes in the scion industry but they outsource their hoods just like everyone else and they are not all real carbon fiber keep that in mind. VIS has great ones too and I respect woodview and dashtek for actually saying in their adds this is not real carbon fiber or it is real and our gonna pay more for it because the wool has been pulled over buyers eyes for along time but hey if your buying it for looks who cares right. I do because your hood may deteriorate fairly quickley when exposed to the sun and driving conditions. so just keep it in mind when you make a purchase thats the best advice I can give you.
