I had an 07 scion tc and had the windows tinted. But when they tinted the windows they informed me that TC's have an extra interior lining that needs to be removed because if any dirt gets trapped in there it scratches the tint right up. After that my window always made noise while going up when it rained like rubber on a wet window screeching sound. Im going to get my 2010 tc tinted but i want to know if i should go to the same place and if anyone else heard of this?
thanks in advance

My tC was tinted as well, and I have never heard anything like that.
Huh? Yeah, find a new place or do it yourself!

I got my 09" tC tinted all at February 09" this year.
The tint install people did not remove/modify anything but they cleaned the windows first before they applied the tint.
Oh and yes try to find a new tint retail!

There is a slight factory tint on the glass but i was under the impression it was the glass itself. when i had my windows tinted, i had to keep the front ones above 35% for state law. he only put 20 or 25% on there and then with the meter test it came out to 32%

find somebody else to tint your windows and never refer that place to anyone

Some vehicles do have that issue but not Scions. And that issue is something that was specific to older vehicles generally. You will hear people tell you this if they are bad at tinting or have been taught wrong. I hear this mostly when tint shops will go to roll the tint to far into the bottom of the window and either bend that seal or will tear it and don't want to replace it so they remove both and tell you it is necessary to keep the tint from scratching. Only get your windows tinted from a shop that will give you a lifetime warranty on the tint job and product from all damage except for self inflicted.

Thats the thing this was a good place that had a lifetime warranty on the tint, it was even transferrable to whoever owned the car after me! Any scratching or anything of such they would replace it. It was scratch resistant and you could also use any chemical to clean it. As most tints i heard that you cannot use amonia base products on them. They also blacked out the back upper part of the rear window with the thicker fog stripes, as most places dont know how to do so. They use LLumar window film which is prety high grade tint. Here is the site if anyone wants to check em out, they are a local philly place but just so you guys can see what im talking about.
