I am going to list some rims in my opinion will cause some problems expecially on the XB stay away from drag wheels they are not made well of course this could change. Also I love the look of the sportmax wheels but they are heavier then you can imagine and they are cousing rubbing issues and irregular tire wear on alot of XB. I have not heard alot of good results form eithr on the Xa or the Xb you may want to look at discount tire and auto yo can find some good wheels inexpensivley. they have their own line called MB motoring I know their 15's are like 30 bucks a piece they are light and fit perfectley on a budies car. i did some digging and the MB wheels are made by liquid metal which isn't a bad company and oyu can swap out the center caps.

^^^^^ i agree, and if sportsmax are so bad why are they considered the herpes of the scion world (every bodies gettin them)??? Now i Know some of the 002's caused some issues with rubbing, but the 501's from my understanding solved that. But i guess i will find out my 501's will be here tomorrow i will let ya know

I was refering to the 02 series sportmax and they are very heavy and no I am not plugging a website maybe you don't have that chain of stores in your area and my feeling on the drag wheels is i have seen defects and flaking in five diffrent sets. the 02 sportmax cause rubbing problems on alot of cars. People buy them and they don't realize they are going to have to buy spacers and roll the fenders. the other sportmax lines are ok from what I understand. I run rays engineering volk wheels myself. calling BS is fine but I know what I have seen.

are people no longer allowed to post opinions I didn't know freedom of speech was gone. everyone has an opinion thats what the deal is. I expressed my personal feelings about a series of wheels and some flakeing issues on some wheels guys in my group run. could have just been a bad batch of wheels we do buy sets in large quanity but if I am going to get bashed for posting what I have seen or experienced what is the point of a forum. geez I don't knock any individual.God forbid I have an opinion that goes against the grain and my grammer isn't the best but it doesn't mean I am not intelligent or that I am not knowledgable. I've been through a heck of a lot losing things that so many people take for granted and losing my siser recentley. so I am sorry if this post offends you. but there is no dispute about some rubbing issues of 02 series sportmax wheels and the fact that they are extremley heavy for their size. and I never said drag wheels we not good wheels I said stay away from them until they don't have flakeing problems which may be already corrected since we stopped carrying them because of the problem. There are things that are common knowledge and things that aren't most people don't know vivid racing owns agency power. most people don't know that TRD mufflers are made by borla and that they have a valve in them to help regulate engine backpressure. most people don't know that perrin pullies are rebadged by certain companies that I will not discuss. nor do most people know that on the XA switching to oznium hid's without relays you only get high beam. mst people don't know about bell and radar detector propoganda. most people don't know that most carbon fiber pieces aren't really made from carbon fiber. most people don't know that scion ten spoke alloy wheels are made by rays engineering. They manufacture volk wheels. Most people don't know that alot of scion aftermarket steel braided brake lines are not teflon coated and unshielded and that debris from the road will eventually cause line failure and most people don't realize that putting very heavy wheels on scions with small stock rotors will cause more wear and further braking distances. most people don't know that event data recorders are sending people to jail for life and that the are historically innacurate and record more data then you can imagine andd that dealerships can acess them to silentley deny warranty claims because tehy can see your speed and come back and say because of performance parts yo have been abusing your car and deny warranty claims. most people don't know that on all the 2007 and up models the fuel is elctronically controlled and that police can shut off your fuel via remote. Most people don't know that their are large failure rates on the scions gas tank black box. most people also don't know that some scions come gapped below 32 thousandths and it causes the car to run rich causing decreased fuel mileage and carbon builup inside the engine and that denso iridum plugs pregapped at 42 thousandths will take the XA and Xb out of the rich condition. There are so many issues that need to be adressed and talked about but instead of focusing on making scions better people complain over posts and run on sentances instead of being contructive they focus more on bashing other peole then making scions the best they can be. i don't know about you but i have been responsible for alot of products coming to market especially for the XA do i feel like I need to brag no but alot of the wonderful parts we enjoy today I helped to test on the XA. i am currentley in direct communication with toyotas board about a problem with the XA light housing in fog reflecting light straight up into the air impairing the drivers vision and it might lead to a recall and a much desired projector headlight housing being released in the united states by scion. So bash away but I have paid my dues to this community despite all the Harsh people and I have always bent over bakwards to help people get sponsored and get them in touch with the right people. i have also been the only person who goes to great lengths to bring back TRD parts from japan for the ist and the BB and I have helped hundreds of owners get theri JDm parts and I have always sold them at cost and never made a dime off it because I care about this community and what scions stand for. I see a problem I will say something about it because people need to be aware and if i am wrong I am always the first to admit it.This is a good forum and if you don't like my post man you don't have to read them because I help others and this community and my community more than somone who isn't disabled.I'll put my scion XA against any XA or XB in the country on a curvy road anyday and I am very thankful for my close friends at injen,Konig,Directed electronics,Goodyear,Philips,Osram,Narva,TRD,Energ y suspension,MSD,vivid racing, seat cover factory,CP films,Hothkis,Pioneer,Dashtek,Alliance hose and Tube works,Power enterprise,NRG,Toda,Weisco,Carillo and above all Keldermann airride supension inc.and KYB,TYC,Kami speed. I've never met such a great group of guys at all these companies and I stand behind them 100 perrcent as they do me.

sorry for the rant I just feel sometimes like gosh I have bent over backwards to get alot of scion parts to the market for the xa and the xb and I always get bashed for my writing when I am dislexic and can't help it. I left scionlife because of it I went to afghanistan got shot and people just slammed me for posting and my writing and they hated the fact that somone in a wheelchair races and mods scions. one of the best bajha racers in the country is in a wheelchair and has similar disabilities. I just wish people could understand that and understand I have writing difficulties. I feeel privledged my brother 32 years old will take an hour almost to read a one paged letter. dislexia sucks things apear right in your mind you can't seem to get them out in the right wording or the letters or sentances will be jumbled.drama

You have anymore info on this? Is it for certain years?

06 model XA's were coming into our area had spark plug gap issues this was later verified in various XA and XB's across the country in a investigative post I did on scionlife. One of the moderators decided they wanted to take claim of my post and nicley deleted it and reposted with their name and peoples responses he took credit for the post after I left the forum. which I thought was BS because I did the research and brought it to scions attention. I believe the post still stands somewhere in there jumbled mess. it was a nightmare until people actually took the time to check their spark plug gap and some were gapped correctley and some weren't the ones gapped at 32 thousands natrually aspirated ran a tad bit fat on the fuel curve but I was getting posts along with mine that came gapped at 14 thousandths. On the dyno the DENSO iridium plugs put the car exactley where it needed to be in the fuel curve of course people on here will scream BS BS as people did on scionlife until about two months afte the post had been up and some members were wondering why they had to get maintence done on their cars and they checked the gap on their plugs some were ok some were horrible whether scion corrected the issue is still unknown but it was brought to their attention. I had alot of cars verifying their spark plug gap was off some more some less some the same it was all over the place but in anycas it was wrong and causing an issue on some of the cars whether or not you switch to iridium plugs is irrelevant except for the fact I like the denso's that are gapped wider then the NGK's and last longer there were plug gap problems that people had to correct.
and for the last time I was talking about the sportmax 02 series wheels only BS bS Bs Sb BB ist XB XA wow I can call all sorts of letters too. the letter I should be calling is BC powder because you post anything it turns into a headache most of the time one thing I did learn on scionlife is you have a bunch of 16 year olds who think they know something about cars and that was just funny to me. forums are supposed to be fun places open to all opinions and everyone helps each other unfortuntley they seem to not work that way most of the time I wish they did I love helping people. I'm ASe master certified I hav this guy in my scion group and it's funny because i am his braines he is my hands on all the members cars since i cannot work on them anymore form my gunshot wound in afgahnistan i tell him what to do on a car and he does it whether it be tuning or modding. but he is very helpful and we get alot acomplished on alot of cars.

ok i'm visiting this thread for a couple of points. did not read everything but...
you say the sportmax wheels are causing rubbing issues?
would that be because people dont know how to select the right offset?
and tire wear issues?
would that be because morons are stretching their stock 185's over an 8" wide wheel?
honestly i'd never run the 15X8 sportmax's. there are great options out there for people looking to go wide for the right reason (more contact patch) on a 15" wheel. i personally run a +23MM Team Dynamics Pro race 1 15X7 with a 225/50 (or 45) race tire and i know i could get a few more square inches of contact patch if i ran a wider wheel... but damn i'd miss my TDR's :)
i think anyone who buys poor knockoff wheels will pay the price.. :)

If your not going to read the whole thread don't make a post that has already been adresed several times.
