How to tell if car has short-throw shifter??

I bought a used 07 and wanted to know if anyone knows how to tell if it has had a short-throw shifter installed already. a couple of folks who have driven mine said that the shift pattern feels much tighter than others they have driven. also when i pulled the boot off the main pivot ball looks like it has a blue sleeve molded over it if that helps. thnx for any input

pics would be very helpful. also where does your shift knob sit in relation to the a/c controls? stock shifters sit about as high as the temp control knob.

sorry for the delay I just got back home to take the pics for ya. from the pivot ball to the top of shifter without knob on it is 6.5 inches if that helps anyone, can't get overall length without taking out the cage.

the blue sleeving I was talking about, it is around the pivot ball and the "nub" the points towards the driver seat

I don't think it's stock. I don't think mine has that angle to it. Could be wrong though. I've never seen it with out the boot.

well thnx for the input guys/gals, after some help here and on another board it was determined to definitely be an aftermarket shifter so I did some digging around on a few of my parts sites and found out I have the B&M Precision Sport Shifter after I downloaded and checked out the full colour install manual. here is the link to the site for it in-case anyone else is interested
