Ok so some time back i went to swap out my stock antenna for a s2k one. Easy swap right? Not in my case.... I tried everything i could to unscrew it, the thing was not budging at all. So i pulled and pulled and pulled some more. I finally got it out. This is what i found...

[The hole from where it came][someone tore the threading out and jammed that thing in there]

Ok so simple thing would be to put the antenna back into the hole. When i went to toyota to see wtf was up i forgot the antenna on the couch and my roomates dog pretty much detroyd it. So what im woundering is if anyone knows where i can find another antenna like this one? It loos like the stock one the only diff is the part that should screw in. Or if anyone in Texas has bondo experience and can help me shave the antenna and relocate it. Kuz im not paying the 200$ toyota wants for the replacment parts.

Instead of shaving it, I'd just go to a honda dealership and grab the s2000 antenna for about 17 bucks.

as for shaving the antenna...
Head to homedepot. Pick up this thing called PC-7. It's an epoxy. I've used it for some body work on my accord. Then it's easy.

Go into the hatch, take out the antenna connection part. You should have a hole where the antenna used to be. from the underside, cover the hole with duct tape or wire mesh (used to patch holes in drywall). It won't be too big cause the antenna hole is about idk... 3/4th to 1" in diameter.

Then take the pc-7, on the outside of the car, cover the duct tape/wire mesh and let it cure.

Then sand it down. and paint.

The pc-7 can be replaced with bondo if you'd like, I just prefer pc-7 cause it won't crack as easily as bondo.

I had the s2k antenna i returnd it because it will do me no good without the threading in the antenna base. that is the one thing i need to make it all work and i cant find it anywhere.

As for the p-7 i could try that out, but i dont yet have a spray gun to re-rapint it so ill wait on that and prob post a DIY.

Thanks..

If anyone knows where i can get the small treading please let a cracker know. Or a heap tc base to replace this one.

My uncle used to have a shop and install systems for a living. I saw a number of aftermarket antennas in his shop. I'd recommend checking any local sound system shop or even your big name Best Buy kind of places for replacement or upgrade antennas. They will replace everything in that hole I believe.

It would look sick with the antenna shave too, but that's going to be a little bit more work and money unless you know your way around a paint and body booth. Haha.

If you do shave it, post up some pics and that DIY!

Good luck mang.
