Use adhesion promoter, primer, and wet sanding the hell out of it between coats of paint. I strongly suggest sanding it down though. Yeah it takes a little work, but if you don't I highly doubt it's going to stick really well, and you will probably end up having to redo it anyway.

Stuff is going to be taped off anyway, and you only really need to sand just to scuff up the surface to help the paint stick better. You don't have to sand down all the paint or anything.

But that's my advice. Make SURE you use adhesion promoter.

Now I haven't seen the product in real life myself, but don't forget there are interior stickers for changing the interior up. If you're the type who may want to change things up in a couple years, or want to retain as much of your resale value as possible, you might want to check them out. They're really cheap via Scikotics too.

If you want it to look good, you have to do the sanding. It took me a few tries to get mine to look right because I tried to go too quick. You need to take your time and sand between coats. It is a long process, but in the end, looks amazing. I have painted my center console and it looks pretty good (I still went too fast the last time I did it so I'll probably redo it over the winter).

Pull all the interior pieces that you want to paint OUT. You do not want this situation. Not that I'm making fun of the OP of the thread linked below, it's just that you want to do it right the first time around.

There are some tips in there. not much though.

Get a t30 torx bit and the is a bolt on each side of the wheel just behind where the silver pieces are. pull those out and the front of the stearing wheel will pop off. This is the airbag so be careful with it. pull it down a little and each silver piece is held on with one philips head screw. undo the screw and they pop right off
