Yes, you can paint plastic chrome, how it holds up to heat? Shouldn't be a big problem as the heat is not high enough to melt the plastic. I have not done it personally, but did see a really good write up on it somewhere. May have been ScionLife... surf around or if someone remembers that and could post a link that would be cool!

I had my gold one on (before the Sharpie treatment) for about two and a half years straight without any issues. YMMV. If you're concerned about it, do like Corry and leave it off day to day and just put it on at shows/meets.

I clean them thoroughly to remove wax, oil, cleaning/detailing products etc. and then primer.


High temp paint isn't a bad idea if you plan to leave it on. Your color palette will be might be limited though.
