One of the first things I want to do this year is a 2-tone leather interior. I was planning on getting it thru Katzkin (sp)
Does anyone have their stuff?
Has anyone done full leather custom made in a shop?
Im curious to see what my options are.

My interior is 2 tone, black couch leather and dark green microfiber. I love it and it holds up very well.
I got it done in a shop, all custom, no seat covers here.

DAMN.....I like that. Now Switch everything green in yours with tan and you got what I want.
Im going to an interior place today to get an estimate.

Microfiber is relatively cheap, and very durable and stain resistant. I would highly recommend it.
And the reason why put mine where I did was because I didn't want the hot leather on the legs thing in the summer when I was still a mailman.....lol

I think one thing that makes his stand out in person is the headliner. It makes a huge difference to have it match the rest of interior.

yea I'm really running over the idea of having the headliner covered in leather, I'm not sure of the colors of the leather yet, thinking black

Leather is too heavy for a headliner.
jwaj2002

even with the very thin stuff?

As far as I know, yes, even with thin stuff.

what would look just as good then? my headliner is ruined, and we can think the techs that have "worked" on my car for that

Leather is too heavy for a headliner.
Bah .. humbug, football leather is even heavier and it's holding up fine in my xB, yes yes 3/4 of my roof is missing but leather should be fine considering that you do not remove the mounting points for the headliner, i.e Oh shit handles and the upholstery shop uses quality materials to fasten it to the old one.
BTW, do not let them add padding to your headliner, it interferes with all your pillars and isn't necessary.

well I'm thinking about having the maltese cross molded into the headliner when I have it recovered

Well my original plan was based on a Katzkin design I saw. Black leather w/ tan ostrich inserts. Tan suede on the headliner. But I wasnt sure if I would bring the suede down onto the pillars. But it loks good on Jons car.

I bought a 3 tone Katzkin kit and it ran me less than a grand. that was me doing the install. i actually paid someone to install the door inserts b/c they are such a pain in the ass. I have no complaints about my seats.. hold up great, and look pimp!
