Tc glass diversion panel for roof idea ???

Ok let me get some opinions here guys. We all know that the glass part called the sun roof air diversion panel shatters easy and that what happened to me and I have called all the junk yards and they will only sell the whole glass roof to me and thats like 600.00 and scion wants like 365.00 for just the glass.

The backing behind the glass is a long shapped oooooooooo that the glass sits on that spands the intire space. I was thinking I could buy some plexie glass at home depote and I could cut it to the same shape and when mounted it would flex to the same shape because the thin plexie glass bends easy with out breaking.

I was also thing if this works i can frost the glass and get a stark industries sticker and place in on the plexie and then paint over the sticker a gloss black and then remove the sticker so only stark industries shows up there and then throw some lighting behind it so when the glass is raised up when the sun roof is open it would glow stark industries...

Let me know what you guys think if would work...????

I say do that. Use some kind of Plexiglas or plastic. Man that sucks big time.

He has a 2010 so that tsb won't apply to his tC.

I'm pretty sure my bossman just ordered the front piece only from parts dept, but I can get back with you asap on getting just the front glass piece vs the whole set... although I do like your idea as an alternative!

Shawn, you know I got your back 100% on your idea for the Plexi! Head on down to Bako and we'll get that thing tricked out! How much of that frosted stuff do you have?
Anyways, that's what I was thinking of doing for another project so I know it would work for you. Once you take the decal off, I'd clear coat the entire plexi so it glistens like real glass. Not to mention at the right angle, the sun will shine through it!
