I'm purchasing a TRD supercharger for my 06 tC, just the supercharger, pulley, and hardware. Now installing it won't be a problem at all, getting the fuel/air just right will be for very obvious reasons. So, considering I do not want to burn my engine up I have a question. Is it better to send my ecu off to toyota or take it to a dealership to have flashed for the supercharger? Or and Im not sure any one is doing this, run an e-manage unit? There is a guy close to me who tunes Mopar cars and has one of the nastiest SRT's i have ever saw who might be able to tune my e-manage. Pro's and Con's to either? E-Manage is about 600, I have no clue how much a reflash is?

Some dealerships may not reflash if not installed at a dealer for liability reasons... Some don't care and just want the business... check with them and find out what they charge if they will do it.

some people might say different but i would go with an aem fic, but if you cant find any one to tune it then go with the emanige but i wouldent get the stock ecu flashed especialy if you are going to upgrade the pulley to like 9.5 or higer, from what ive heard the flash goes lean when you put a 9.5 or higer pulley on it

Hope you didnt get ahold of one of those bad batch superchargers. I know way too many people that are on their second or even third supercharger. I'm assuming its a used one?

Yeah its used. Probably not getting it now, some friends got in a wreck when we were cruising tonight, kinda killed my thoughts on it. If I do anything I'll probably wait till TRD Sparks gets their kits back in stock so I can get the injectors, hardware, etc. If I decide to go another way it will probably be a t4 with emanage, a place here in Indianapolis has basically everything I need to put a turbo kit together so we will see. And i'm pretty sure a reflashed ecu can handle 9.5 pounds of boost just fine. I have friends with turbo cars that jack with their boost controllers all day + or - 5 psi and never run lean or rich.Plus I would think the consistancy of the supercharger would help it manage fuel/air better. I just don't see a 2 psi jump making your car run lean. Maybe I'm wrong though.

Yeah i heard about them being discontinued a month or so ago, kinda disappointed in TRD but I think they have dropped a few things. If I go turbo it won't be for a while unfortunately. I know Dezod has some sick kits.
