so i want to lower my car but i can't afford coilovers.. which brand of springs should i get without having to spend too much money (under $200)? any suggestions? and how is the ride? im really not going for anything too stiff, i still want it to be pretty comfortable... what do you guys think?

how low are you wanting to go? that tends to take a factor in decision as well. the top 3 that are usually bought are tein stechs (extremely slammed to the ground) h techs (not as low) or trd's (enough to close the wheel gap)

hmm good point i wasn't really thinking about how low i want to go.. i guess not too low i dont want my tires to rub and the roads where i live are filled with potholes and speed bumps so i probably shouldnt risk it

TRD's are pretty good. I'd get those and some TEIN's and you'll be riding pretty!

TRD's sound like the right way to go for you... closes the wheel gap and can still handle potholes and speedbumps well.

TRD is the way I went. Closes the wheel gap very nicely and rides pretty good on crappy roads. I haven't had any problems with mine

u'll like trd' nice ride and they close most of the gap (that's what i'm on) and definately get an alignment after about a week of install so that they can settle a little bit.

yep always get an alignment after a week or 2 to let the springs settle. You're car will thank you for it

I'd balance and align afterwards. Like Matt said, give them some time to settle and even out and then go get an alignment and then make sure everything is balanced.

I got an alignment policy when I got my 18" rims so I get mine aligned like once a month, lol.

I went with the Tein S-tech. I love them...but there are really low....so might not be the best decision with your road conditions.

Tein H-techs FTW! I love mine. Not too low, but low enough to make a noticeable change.

I say go with the tein htechs. I run the htechs and I love them. They give you a really nice comfortable ride and they are not real low.

I think they are about the same. The reason why I went with the htechs is becuase I heard really good things about them in my research and I wanted only a slight drop and a comfortable ride without going to coilovers, plus 2 years ago when I bought them I got a really good deal. Two of my friends have the TRD's and they really like them and their tC's look about as low as mine. I saw that TRD Sparks has the TRD's on special right now. I hope this helps.

i ended up going with the h-techs.. i looked at a lot of pictures of tcs with the trds and just didnt think it was a big enough drop for me.. the s-techs were wayyy too low.. so i decided the h-techs were just right.. i just bought them yesterday off ebay for a really good price (only $200 including shipping!).. i cant wait til they arrive!! ill post pics asap.. thanks for eveyones input!
