I just got a 08 Tc manual :mrg: and i was looking to do some simple mods for now stuff under $400. From what ive read so far Im figuring a cai, pulleys, short shifter, new header maybe, does anyone have any warnings or suggestions. Also im kinda worried about pulleys cuz ive read that it may not be safe any info on that. Thanks

I haven't seen any reports on damaged engines directly as a result of a underdrive pulley installed on the crankshaft. Of course, that doesn't mean it hasn't happened.

poly mount inserts from energy suspension run about $60 or less shipped, will cause a bit of vibration with the a/c on but costs less and sounds better than a torque damper. it will make a noticeable difference in acceleration. try also a short throw shifter and shifter cable bushings.

Those inserts are for the suspension?

they make them for the suspension as well, I was referring to the motor mounts specifically, I just finished the last mount this week and you can feel the difference in acceleration.
