I'm debating on a sub setup for my tC. I have an Eclipse HU, so it has the preouts I require.

Now, I'm torn between the Elemental Designs 10" setup, which fits perfectly under the mat of the tC, or the Infinity BassLink II.

If I go with the Basslink, I also get a decent 4-channel amp along with the included 10" powered woofer, which I would need to mount somewhere in the trunk where it wont move around.

If I go with the ED setup, the only thing I need to mount would be the amp, as the box/sub will be under the mat.

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-MdISZz7hNfe/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=51000&I=700BASS4CH thats the Infinity BassLink II

http://www.edesignaudio.com/edv2/product_info.php?products_id=370 is the ED setup

Whats your ideas/suggestions?

don't get the basslink. its a horrible setup. eD makes an amp rack for the spare tire so you can put your amp on top of the spare tire.

interesting...I heard the Basslink setup at a meet couple of weeks ago...sounded really good for a plug and play unit.

I'll have to check that link, but how much ventilation will the amp get under the mat if I get the eD rack?

edit...cant seem to find that rack?

I got the original Basslink. To secure it, I put a piece of plywood under the carpet and used the screwes that came with it. You can't see the wood and the thing does not move at all (even when being rearended by a big ass pickup!!).

I highly recomend it. After I installed my afeter market HU it sounds even better.

they don't have it on their site but you can ask them and they'll make it for you. They put it in their own car so i would assume the ventilation would be ok. Also with ed you get a 3 year warentee and free tech and support for life. I doubt your gonna get 130 db's with the basslink. Thats what the sq10 hit and its sick. Either way just talk to them.

yeah now thats a sick setup! I kinda use my car for work though, so I need as much trunk space as possible. thats why I was leaning towards the 10" or the Basslink.

which is why i said go for the sq 10 set up. ed is a great company and you wont be disapointed.

the original basslink was decent when adding it to the stock system in my rsx. though i do think you can get better output out of the ED setup, as well as sound quality and a more stealthy install. this of course comes at a price. if you can afford it... go with the ed setup. if not.... go with the basslink.

i have amps under my floor. it does get hot.. but its fine.. if you are worried, some fans might be of some use. computer fans can hook up to the car directly =P

Deval, I am happy with my Basslink 2 set up. plus I have the extra amp upgrade if you need it. It is not stealthy, but you still have a decent amount of trunk space. you can hear it again on Saturday if you come.

I have the SQ-10 and made my own box for under the hatch mat (I wanted a little more airspace than ED's boxes). I am currently waiting for them to get in their amps so I can finally hear my sub. I also value the space in my hatch so I will be putting my amp behind the panel next to the passenger rear seat. If you look on ScionLife, Chris (mandos) shows how to put an amp back there. Plenty of ventelation and takes up no trunkspace.
