I'v been looking to get some sway bars and strut tie bars to help with my suspension after I put on the lowering springs. What does everyone else have? Whats the best? TRD? Hotchkis? DC?

Hotchkis makes very good sway bars.

Well, Hotchkis it is, I guess. What kind of springs do you guys have, I have the eibach sportlines. I haven't met anyone who has these yet, everyone has tein's.

It's not bad at all, Mehr. I've driven in NYC with my car, and it's low - TRD springs which are settled really really low.
If you're looking for some suspension upgrades, go with a Front strut bar, Lowering Springs, and a TRD Rear sway. That'll tighten your car up nicely. The only reason you'd do more (both front/rear sways, etc) is if you're autocrossing or looking for really serious performance.

i've got progress coilovers on the way and i'm ordering hotchkis sways as soon as i decide whether i want a new'07 or used '06, wonder if the 06 parts will fit on the newer model. i do autox and i am more about performance than show (i enjoy driving more than looking). the strut bars will be later.
i remember my first trip to nyc and i sware i got 2 dings on the car i didnt have before and the road i took from the holland tunnel to 1st and 1st made me cry for my car. seriously if i decide to do a little show on my new car i'm keeping her garaged and not even driving her around d.c. too much cuz those roads are death to the tCs paint job

thank you for the suggestion though, if i was going to commute all the way into the city everyday i would have gone with what you said, a nice moderate trd balanced car...but i'm looking for a stronger ride.
still deciding where i want to go with the engine...have to beat a couple people in the md chapter before they go insane with their cars...(i cant afford an insane boost setup...maybe i'll buy a boosted '06 but i'm still deciding, any opinion on that?

anything about the greddy sway bars?
its hotchkis or greddy...what do you guys think for autox and daily driving...

GReddy doesn't make a sway bar - only a strut bar. The strut bar itself is HUGE. I say go Hotchkis for strut bars. It's more compact and there's virtually no difference. If you're doing performance mods under the hood, the GReddy bar can get in the way.
For sways, with the progress coilovers, go with the hotchkis front and rear sways. That'll tighten it up greatly.

Good call on the strut:-). I think I'll go with the eibach sways actually, they will go well with my eibach springs, they're just a little more expensive I've found.

thank you so much will let you know how it goes...
no progress?
can you explain why trd and a few others only have a rear sway? (out of curiousity)
and you're right i was looking at greddy struts...oops =/ so many things to do i'm getting ahead of myself...

Progress and TRD only have rear sways because that's all that's really needed. Rear sways cut down on the understeer, which is the problem that all front wheel drive cars have. Front sways are to cut down on oversteer, which we don't have as much of a problem with.
Also - if you're concerned about the install, go with the progress or TRD rear sways - those are very easy to install. Front sways are a huge pain in the rear.

i've heard about the front being a pia to install but i always find a way or make one. on the over/understeer stuff i've heard that our cars have an issue with understeer but i got into my accident with an oversteer and (personally) feel like my 06 had serious issues with that especially when there was even one h20 molecule on the road. guess i'll wait to see how the 07 feels before i make a final decision but thank you for the info! Heres a good price on the progress tech one which is alot thicker in diameter than the hotchkis one http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Scion-XA-and-XB-Progress-Rear-Sway-Bar-RSB-62-2170-Echo_W0QQitemZ290051354997QQihZ019QQcategoryZ33592 QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

It's understeer. The problem you ran into was the TIRES. I take it you still had the stock Potenzas. They're horrible to the point of being DANGEROUS in the rain. If you're going to upgrade your suspension, get better TIRES first.

haha point well taken. funny thing is i knew my tires were balls in the rain so i wasnt even speeding when i hit that turn...i had the turanzas, u can probably find 800 rants on s/l from me about them haha...
i'm getting the g-force T/A KDW 2 probably...the 07 comes with yokos that felt a decent bit better than the 06 stock tires but i'll have to wait for a rainy day to crash my car and tell you otherwise lol..JK there will be no more tc killing.
i'm driving down to the tire store pretty much as soon as i get my car...

OH gawd. The Turanzas were even worse than the Potenzas. Gogogo - get better tires! Order them online too - you'll get 'em cheaper than from a tire store.
