I want to see pictures

If Toyota is showing the car they want a spy shot posted to get the chatter up on the new model :)

Sooner or later a spy shot has to surface. I agree with Tim, they want the hype.

I'm really surprized they didn't leak a picture (Toyota) Guess the industry rags are into other cars. Must be pissn off the Scion division :)

BTW We already have Killerglass for the 07 Scion XD :)

Well scionlife rumor has it that it is the Auris/Blade
But those that went to miami say it has nothing to do with it.

But then again there was a open bar at the event and the car was modded with a five axis body kit so who know :ponder:

It's hard to say if the two new models look anything like what we already have pictures of. The cars in Miami were half a million dollar show/concept cars so who knows what will actually make the final production cut.

The concepts shown at Miami have not been released that I've seen and I didn't start drinking until Sobe. :mrblue:

But even if you were sober at the unveiling the car had to be heavily modded by five axis. I think it was delieberate for two reasons.

1. Incase someone snuck a camera.
2. That five axis is resposible for all their show cars to show us what the possiblities are.

They want everyone misled at a certain degree you might have the upper hand but even what you seen prolly won't roll onto the show room floor.

Even look at the five axis model of the xB, tC, xA, don't really look like any of the cars we drive now.

Like I said on Scionlife I think both sides are correct those who went to miami and those with insider info. Even some of the miami people are agreeing with the insiders and vice versa.

So it will probably be based on the blade/auris with scion "scionizing" the car (removing styling cue from their resouces at toyota and lexus to make it unique) plus softening what you guys saw at miami.

in addtion scion has to modify it for two reasons if it was based on the blade/auris
1. more affordable since currently has a base price of 19K if converted from yen
2. Americanize it to be accepted

Personally I don't like the blade it looks like the front was stolen from the Yaris/Camry the door panel region from the Matrix/Ist and the rear end of a mix between a Lexus RX 400/ Mazda 3 hatch/ Subaru tribeca.

Of course I am probably bias since I own a xA/Ist that GOT DISCONTINUED.

Here is some more information I have tabulated :nerd: may not be 100 percent accurate

Matrix- source toyota.com

As you can see the wheel base matches for a corolla platform seeing as they are the same. So I would expect at the min. a 1.8L motor stuffed since the over all length is close as well. We also know I will NOT have anything to do with the current xA.

I think I am happy yet sad that they are discontinuing the xA. I mean, now I know only so many people have it, but at the same time its just going to make modding it harder now.

I have a really dumb question, but why mod the release cars so much?? I mean that kinda defeats the purpose of having a scion only, pass needed thing to see them. I mean if its just so if people sneak a camera, then thats retarded in my opinion.

Yeah well companys do stupid things sometimes and besides why do the duct tape the heck out a mules running around. Don't they know it will attract more attention.

I thought the xD was hott....thus will miss the xA also though. 5-axis did really do up the cars, but I thought it was just to get our attention more, not as a stunt in case a camera got in.

I wish I could of seen it. Maybe my view would be changed, but I still don't like the idea of it...
