Hello Sciko's !!!
Shawn here from Crystal Clear Customz. We would like to know if there would be any interest in the Scion Gen2 xB trunk handle called the Aurora Garnish, that is produced out of a clear plastic, and backlit by the use of led's.
crystalclearcustomz@hotmail.com
myspace.com/crystalclearcustomz
The idea here is to take our clear trunk handle and then place a vinyl sticker of your chioce over it. Then paint it the color of your car. Once paint is dry, peal back the vinyl sticker. The Image from the vinyl sticker is left in clear. Next clear coat the trunk handle and install with lighting.
Lighting color of your choice will be included with the Aurura garnish. All lighting is from Oznium.
Our molds are being finished as of right now.
Price range will be around 150.00 to 170.00. There is alot of work that has gone into making these a reality, And thousands of dollars to bring this product to life.
Here are some pictures of our prototype. Tell us if you would be interested in this custom trunk handle for the Scion Gen2 xB. Here is our prototype for the Scion tC, to give you guys an idea of what we are talking about.

Dude, the post was only 2 hours old, and put up at midnight. Chill with the bumping already. Give people a chance to wake up.
But, in my opinion, doesn't look good at all, and wouldn't be no where's near my car. Sorry. Plus the writing would have to be really small cuz that piece isn't that tall to start off with.

I kinda Like it actually. Unfortunately the house payments dictate my wallet right now.. Would love to see photos on an XB2.

i would probably be interested depending on cost.. have you thought of using a frosted looking plastic instead of clear? it would spread the light more evenly...

Yes we have, and we're all over it! Nice running into you again George!

It's ok guys, it will be another two weeks till I get the molds back. Also another week to cast some parts so I have some on hand that are availible. We can also do a frosted look on the back so that the glow from the led's distributes the lighting evenly. http://newscionxb.com/Smileys/new/yes.gif We will also be able to produce this product in different color clears. http://newscionxb.com/Smileys/new/biggrin.gif
We were going to do the gauge cluster for the Gen1 xb, but there is high demand for the Gen2 aftermarket parts.
I've been interested since these first came out for the tC's but I do agree with Cory, the lettering will of course have to be smaller since our trunk handle thing is smaller but yea its badass and I think I remember someone saying you could make it so when its not lit up it looks just like stock then hit the brakes or flip a switch and BAM its all lit and cool looking and shyt!! lol
I'm in for one as long as it stays at the price point or less!

Because the fact that the xB trunk handle is loger than the tC we are including the Oznium 19" flex strip with each purchase on this. You choice of color of course.

We also would like to hear your ideas on parts for the interior of you Gen2 xB's that you would be interested in a clear plastic to be lit up. Maybe like the circles around the air vents. Just let us know what you guys would like to see from us.

Let us know about the trunk handles and also let us know what kind of products you would like to see for your Gen2's. We know there is not alot of parts availible for the Gen2 And I have one as well that I use as the company and mockup vehicle. There's alot of view's on this, but we would like to see some more responces to better assist in creating parts to customize your rides with.
Thank you Shawn

Might be something to look into. I have to look at the mounting brackets. That's what we might have an issue with. Maybe we can use magnets. If we used the mounting brakets with the clear platic it would snap alot easyier than the flexible plastic it is originally made of. Im thinking magnets would be the way to go on that piece and it would make it alot more easyier to get to things.
The piece around the radio is a good piece to customize, its centrally located and stands out. You could do something like this for the pple that don't want it lit up...

I have also thought about that and all the other pieces that pop off that people would normally paint, even the plastic around the gauges, and because the fact that I can make these pieces in different colors people can still do thier color themes.
And don't forget about emblems, they had a guy doing custom ones out of colored acrylic and with like, glitter in them and stuff but he disappeared. I have an idea with that too to do a CF emblem if you wanna talk about it, I'd be interested if you do any.

Just incase your wondering here is a sneek peak at our work location nothing special just keepin it real. We are small as of right now and are hoping to grow eventually.
Here is our work station where all the magic happens.
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n25/tehachapi_2006/100_1010.jpg
Here is where we mix the resin with the gram scale and degass the ressin in our vacuum chamber, So we can give you a bubble free product.
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n25/tehachapi_2006/100_1015.jpg
The resin's that we have to use are very strong so we have to make sure we have a resperator, eye goggles, and where latex gloves so the resin does not burn our skin.
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n25/tehachapi_2006/100_1014.jpg
Here is our resin's that we use.
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n25/tehachapi_2006/100_1019.jpg
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n25/tehachapi_2006/100_1018.jpg
Here is our color extractor, so we can add pigments to the resin to make different color resin's.
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n25/tehachapi_2006/100_1021.jpg
Just keepin it real. Thank you.

i would be interested in simply a frosted strip accross the hatch handle, lit up with Oznium super white, then hook it up to the reverse light! and take out that hideous thing on the left of my bumper.
CrystalClearCustomz
04-23-2009, 01:05 PM
I can do this for you. When we are ready to take orders. I can use the etching cream on it when the time comes, And create a frosted line across it. Not a problem.

I contacted the mold company and one mold has been completed and a sample piece has been produced so far. The other mold was supossed to be finished today and the sample product should be casted tomorrow. I have been informed that everything has turned out great. I am hopeing to get these molds by tomorrow and cast some sample clear ones so I can get some pictures up. I am sorry for the delay but I told the mold company to take thier time and make sure everything is done right. Give me some time to get some of these ready so I have them on hand to get out to you guys. All I ask is for people to be patient with me. I do not want to take orders untill I make sure there is not going to be any set backs with my resin or anything. I have to make sure. I have invested thousands of dollars to make this possible and a lot of time as well.
Thank you.

Ok guys. I got good news I picked up the molds today and I have some pictures of the test piece from the mold for the Gen2 xB. I have to figure out how much resin I will have to use etc. I will let everyone know when I am ready to start taking orders. Here are some quick pictures of the test piece. I think they turned out good. I will have to drill and dye the hole and place screws in the finished product. Let me know what you guys think.

Holly crap!! I'm sorry to hear that bro. Did the xB2 come with some kind of warrenty that you have to shell out that? I would have gotten an extended policy if it meant it would have been covered.

It was used. And we where tryin to keep the payments down. It is an 08 and we didn't think we would run into any problems because it's somewhat new. I am going to get a extended warrenty here soon. But yeah I have enough for gas money to get back and forth to work till Thursday. I may have to rob my son piggy bank to get some work done for these parts and pay him back when I get paid. I know thats crull but at least i'll pay him back in like 5 days. hahaha....

Ok, here is the first trunk handle that I did. It didn't turn out like I wanted it to because I forgot to scrape off all the bubbles after degassing the resin and poured them in the mold. Trial and errour. I am going to do one tomorrow morning. I think im getting this down, it just takes some practiss. Anways here is the one I first did. Also a pic of the resin being degassed.
NOT THE FINISHED PRODUCT !!!!!

I am truely sorry guys!!! I am trying to find a company that would like to make these for me and all of us right now. The old way was not cutting it for me and did not work with supply and demand. I have hit up Tim from Killer Glass so we are still talking slowly when we get free time. I need time guys. I am truely sorry. I wanted this to work out so bad. I had some issues with the resin I was using and the molds not sealing properly for some reasons. I spent about 3,000 trying to get this thing going. It cost about 10,000 at the lowist price to get this done over sea's and in the states it cost like 20 to 30,000...I just don't have that money and its to hard to get a loan now these days even with perfect credit. So my next opportunity is to try to work with companies that I know the owners etc and have the companies they have already been working with and can pull this off better than I can. But I am trying to get this done not only for myself but for everyone else.:-(
