View Full Version : Choosing An Offset Color

I'm working on deciding what would be a good color to accent my car in. Both interior pieces + exterior graphics. The shadow Mica color looks grey, charcoal, and black, all with a metallic/pearl finish so it is constantly changing... I'm having a tough time deciding on the color.
I was thinking some sort of burnt orange as orange charcoal/grey always go good together.... Then I was thinking of a shade lighter metallic charcoal black as a subtle offset and do "ghost" graphics on the outside (clear vinyl or smoked vinyl). it should also be noted, my tails will be black-out and my grill/headlights will be black.
Here is a horrid mock photoshop I did with the wheel I just aquired (chopped in). The overexposure and the sun kind of gives the car a camo color, but it's really shadow mica... Any suggestions guys?

It's such a clean lookin ride with those black wheels. I'd say stick with the darker colors like charcoal gray/black. But that saddle/burnt orange color does look good with black -- always makes me think of harley, though.
 Very nice.

Thanks much... I am opting for some "ghost" graphics on the car.. basically clear vinyl (like ghost flames) so it gives it the "watermark" effect because the car in general is so dark...(black tails, headlights, grill, etc)
On the other hand I could always detail with an orange color (shitty photoshop example and the line is not straight but would be cool to put barcodes in a side stripe on the ride:

I'll see if I can do a mockup of what ghost imagery might look like on it... again the sun really messed up the photo so the black/grey/metallipearl mix of the shadow mica is not at its full potential lol

Chrome accents would look really good with your camo. As long as it's done properly and not too much then you're good. For the color combo, the camo looks good with black or yellow. Just my $0.02.

It's not camo, it's shadow mica... the camera overexposed.... Here how it really looks:
