Have any of you guys messed around with the new civics? I raced a four door si and it smoked my sh**! Those things are fast. 196Hp out of a 2.0L, I think its time to start moding my car apparently.

Are you in an auto tC? I've hung around with the new Si's from a roll and a stop. He eventually walked me a car or so after 3rd.

I ate a new civic si 2 door stick with my 5 speed running only CAI. He pulled out from the honda dealership with a sales person in the car with him. At the next light, the sales guy asked what I had under the hood. I gave the driver directions to the nearest toyota dealership instead.

Awesome, I love it!. My tc is a 5 speed but it is completely bone stock, not even the TRD catback. I lost the four door at about 3rd gear too

TRD doesn't have a catback. Axelback yes.

The Civic will probably win, but it can come down to a driver's race. You say your boy in the tC with exhaust ran a 15.7. I only race at the track (I know people that have been killed from street racing) and with only a clutch stop and TRD springs, I ran a 15.6. If I found a guy that was off driving his civic, I would probably take him. When it gets this close, it can come down to a drivers race. However, next time, take it to the track. Then, you have proof that you beat the guy and can have REAL bragging rights.

A tC with a full exhaust (including S-pipe) would stick next to the new Si. Back in the day when all we had was a full exhaust, we were running 15.1 and 15.2 on average in the 1/4 at about 90+ mph. I have raced my boy before with his Si when all we had was an exhaust on the tC. From a dead stop, it's tC out the hole. And like some have said, around the top of 3rd or so, is when it will start to creep by. But I never saw his headlights until that point. And by estimation, he was creeping by when I hit the 75-80 mph point. A stock tC traps around 88 mph in the 1/4, so I wasn't that impressed with them over our tC.

A couple of them. ZPI and Corbeau are not. I really should update that though, as it's not accurate on here.

A bit more than that..
I've beat a couple of the SI's, still haven't meet one of the new ones though. The cars I don't really like too much are the cobalt SS.

I've taken a cobalt SS in a legit run when I went to the strip for a drag night. We ran several times with me in front everytime. I also just got home from taking a WRX.... he had Injen standard sized vinyls all over his car.... so I am thinking that we was N/A.... but I don't know too much about WRX's. He ran a couple of times but couldn't keep up. It's nice to see my car beating those who are always running their mouths. I'm not a street racer by any means. I do try to keep everything on the track.

Hmm... I guess mods are paying off then with what my original plan was. It's nice to build a quick car and spending under $17,500 (used car + mods) to do so without nitrous, turbo, or supercharger.

naturally aspirated.....I think there are other ways of defining it too... but basically a car that isn't running forced induction (turbo, supercharger) or nitrous.

Cobalts do suck, just like the neons do. I'm suprised that WRX didn't rip you a new one, AWD, Stock turbo. Those things are fast right off the line!

The owners of the new Cobalt SS's and the Ion Redline's are extremely annoying to me. They seem to think that the supercharger they have pushing 200hp means that they are fast. My car is na with no mods and I stayed with an SS that wanted to race. He beat me, but not by much. At the next light he asked me if I had the TRD Supercharger and I had to inform him that I was stock. He didn't seem to be too impressed with his SS after that. Oh well. The new Si's are decent looking cars. But it seems that everyone that wants a Civic wants an Si. To me, that makes me love my tC even more. As of right now the Si's will own me, and I'm ok with that.

Dude... I was in NYC over xmas... there was a Hyundai Sonata sitting at a light, we were behind him (in my family's 4-runner). Up came a brand new Civic SI and it squeezed in next to the Hyundai, like he wanted to pull an a-hole and jump ahead of him when the light changed.
Well, that light turned green, and they both took off... THE HYUNDAI WON! Hahahahahahahaha. My whole family was laughing.

Did you recall if the SS had a Supercharge badge on it. As they make NON-supercharged SS Cobolts.

I'd just like to know what my options are as an AUTO? I used to drive a stick, but got a ticket for it. Thats why I baught a Scion w/ automatic transmission. But now I don't have enough juice to propose any kind of a threat. I had a GMC beat me the other day.
Although whenever traffic becomes denser, thats where I can shine. For some reason, Handas can't get through traffic. (You'd think with all the Fast and the Furious movies they watch, they'd know) but yeah, thats when I pull away and stay ahead.
I think I'm going to have to duel turbo charge mine with a central exhaust. What do you think?

you bought an automatic......JUST because you got a ticket while driving a manual? :blink1: I'm confused. Speeding is Speeding is Speeding. Don't matter if your in an auto or manual, you can still drive above the posted speed limit. So, I'm a bit complexed by your decisions...:-?

Yea, I was just thinking that as well. It doesn't matter if you have an auto or stick, you have the same amount of power. Manuals are slightly quicker in the quarter because it allows you to choose the shift points and have quicker shifts, but other than that, power is the same. Same engine. You can go just as fast in an auto as you can with a manual.

Might be same engine, however manuals do put out more power due to not as many moving parts and hp being lost in the transmission. On average Auto tC's will dyno around 125-130whp. The manual tC will dyno on average 135-140whp. Just a little info for you to share...:)

lol...funny thing is though, he bought an auto just because of a traffic violation. As if having an automatic would change driving habits of blantant disregard for the speed limit. Do you think that automatic Supra owners with a single t78 turbine upgrade drive any slower than Supra owners with a manual and t78, just because they have an auto?.....:rofl2:

well, with an exhaust they are 200ish. Add a header, intake, and 9 PSI pulley they put out around 230whp (enough to keep up with my stock 350Z from a roll up till about 100, then the car lengths would get wider).
