If you are concerned about the warranty and willing to put enough money to put a Turbo in, go with the TRD Supercharger. You won't lose your warranty, although.. I am not sure how well the Supercharger is. Have to look that up yourself or talk to someone who has it already.

more than likely if something breaks on the car and its the cause of the turbo the warranty is void. I swear there was another post recently about warranty and I wasn't laughing at you because of the question, just the fact that you could've found an answer faster if you did research

Yeah, basically if anything happens to the motor, you're screwed. They will always say that the turbo did it.

Yep, you'll loose your engine warranty most likely. However, if anything else goes wrong with your car (suspension, rattles, squeaks, etc.), you should be fine. The dealership has to prove that the part you installed caused the problems for them to not warranty it.

Only if you want to lose the warranty on your motor.

lol its up to you whether you should do it or not. Your car not ours. If you do it then its on you, if you don't do it, it's still on you.

no matter what you do is very critical to keep the warrenty if you want it dont turbo. One more thing check the treads here in the tC section this question has been ask to many times

As long as you install right and follow all the right steps. There should be not problems at all. Especially with a dezod kit. Just keep you HP in a reasnable window and follow all oil changes at the right time. If you do this you wont have to worry about the warranty

so the only thing i need to do to maintain after install is by having my oil changed every 3k miles and ill be fine?

Nope I don't totally agree with that. Whenever you boost you need extra money to maintain all problems that may come up. You may run into problems that you yourself may not be able to fix and then will need to shell out more money to someone else to fix it. research. it's fine you don't know but try to find stuff on your own before asking questions. They have a whole section dedicated to this on scionlife.

lol strike is right about that a lot of ppl that have boost there is always atleast a couple problems that come and if they dont its best to have money aside from what i hear and read from other turbo folks gotten into problems and find out the hard way

The turbo 'should' be maintenance free after install, but keep in mind that things wear out over time, and sooner if you drive it hard. Research haw the turbo affects the engine as a system and what the potential failure points and modes are. That way you can monitor for trouble before something goes and causes an expensive repair. Gauges are your friend, as well as a cheap (under $100) error code reader and a pistion compression check tool set.
Typical problems right after install are leaks in the intake piping post-compressor or exhaust leaks pre-O2 sensor. Over time, the wastegate, blow off valve, oil feed lines, turbo bearings and oil seals can wear. Internally, the piston rings may wear and cause some blow-by, the head bolts can elongate and allow for gasket seepage between oil and coolant, and transmission wear can occur.
You can monitor vacuum leaks and wastegate failure with a boost gate, scan for O2 errors for exhaust leaks, oil pressure for feed line blockage or leaks as well as visual inspection, and perform compression checks when changing spark plugs for piston ring and valve wear. look at your oil when you change it, you'll see if coolant is getting in indicating any head gasket leakage.
Again, check the boards to see what problems other turbo owners have ran into, and get a wideband O2 gauge and sensor, oil pressure, boost and possibly water temp gauge. A god tune also goes a long way, I'm not sure how the Dezod comes out the box, the Greddy runs lean on an xB if the exhaust is modded.

well pretty much the trd supercharger gives you as much extra horsepower and torque as an air filter. haha it blows... go with turbo, yes it will void your warranty but as long as you dont beat the shit out of your car ALL the time, you shoud be ok, especially if you put out the money every 15,o00 miles or so to get the turbo re-built. Its a costly investment.... it costs about $4500 to get a good custom built kit. Im in the process of getting one made. Should increase my whp to anywhere between 250-325, depeng on other parts a well such as exhaust,headers.... and all that jazz.. wich is a dramatic increase. get the turbo re-built runs about $200. aint that bad for every 15,000 miles... go with the turbo if you want performance. and oh, the trd supercharger limits your warranty to 12 months or 10,000 miles after its installed anyway.
