One of the coolest things about going to the show is always the drive there, use this thread to plan up where/when you're going to be in each state to meet up with the other chapters!!!

Bakersfield, Ca. to Tulsa, Ok. = 1459 Miles, 21 hours. (This route takes the toll road, toll will = $5.50 per car).

Barstow, Ca. to Kingman, Az. = 215.29 miles

Kingman, Az. to Joseph City, Az. = 218.47 miles

Joseph City, Az. to Albuquerque, NM. = 241.77 miles

Albuquerque, NM. to Tucumcari, NM. = 175.82 miles

Although it is some time away, I would like to leave out of Bristol area around thursday midnight. I would like to get to Tulsa around 2-4pm and give us time to settle and rest a bit. If we leave at midnight That would put us in Nashville around 5am and then in Memphis around 8am and in tulsa around 2-3pm. If anyone is or wants to plan passing through Nashville or Memphis around these times, I would love to jump on the caravan. My wife won't drive my box, so I will be doing ironman driving for 14hours, lol. Coffee and Redbull FTW!:icon_wacko:

Here's the East Coast trip from Philadelphia, PA that we took last year. DE folks could come up through/around Philly and make a meet point in Harrisburg, PA.

- Starting just west of Philadelphia
- I-76 West to Harrisburg (96 miles) NJ and NY can meet up where I-81 and I-78 intersects I-76.
- I-76 West to Breezewood, PA (64 miles) VA/MD folks can meet us where I-70 intersects I-76.
- Continue on I-76/I-70 just south of Pittsburgh, PA
- Continue through Wheeling, WV on I-70 West (156 miles)
- Continue through Columbus, OH on I-70 West (128 miles)
- Continue on I-70 just north of Dayton, OH
- Continue on I-70 through Indianapolis, IN (174 miles) We can meet with Indy, Lafayette and Ft. Wayne in Indy
- Continue on I-70 just north of Terre Haute, IN
- Continue on I-70 to St. Louis, MO changing to I-44 West in STL (242 miles) Chicago and STL can meet up in STL
- Continue on I-44 West through Springfield, MO (219 miles)
- Continue through Joplin, MO (71 miles) KC can meet up here
- Arrive in Tulsa, OK (117 miles)

FYI, total trip from Philly to Tulsa is 1,279 miles!

In other areas, it looks like NC can meet with TN folks and caravan to Memphis. It also looks like SC can meet with ATL and then they meet with BHAM and all meet in Memphis. That group can meet with LR ppl in Arkansas.

ntwrkguru
01-27-2009, 05:48 PM
woohoo... triple posting FTW...lol

- Looks like Memphis can be a major meeting point for the SE.
- Looks like Indianapolis can be a major meeting point for the NE.
- Texas just keeps funneling north through Dallas.
- MPLS and Iowa just kinds head south.

Now i am not sure of my plan of action because i don't know what the rest of FL is doing but...

When mapped i have 2 plans of action both 1140 miles kinda wierd. but one is a hour longer.

So plan 1 drive up to atlanta then across into missi, ark, and then ok.

second plan would be across to ala, miss, la, then up which is an hour longer, so i am not to sure of what i want to do, prob do one the way up and the other on the way back.

I need some input on what other surrounding chapters are doing but i would love to meet up with everyone to make the drive better

Im not sure whos planning on going. I definately am though and im trying to find a second driver but to no avail :( Ill have new paint and HOPEFULLY my carbon by asylum i cant wait.

BUT back on topic crab if you take the route through alabama you can meet up with all the al chapters as well as pretty much all of florida on the way since ur fairly centrally located. All up to whether or not you wanna add an hour to an already long ass drive.

Ok, I just looked at MapQuest. If you take the 87 north, it puts you into Winslow, AZ and I-40. Joseph City, AZ is east of Winslow, AZ. So you would not have to back track west at all. Just get onto the I-40 east in Winslow, then get off at Joseph City, AZ. We will be fueling up the cars at the Loves Truck Stop there.

Or, are you taking the 87 to the 260 to the 277 to the 377 to the 77 and hitting I-40 in Holbrook, AZ.? If that is the case, then we can meet you there. Thats only about 20 miles east of Joseph City.

It is only about 6 weeks until Asylum so time has come to get serious about the trip! lol. The family and I will be leaving from Elizabethton (37643) around 9pm on Thursday and heading towards Tulsa. This will give us 9-10 hours of 2 year old sleeping time (hopefully) and with food/bathroom/diaper change stops put us into Tulsa around 2-3pm on Friday. We would love some company on the road so if anyones plans run thru our route, let me know.

All up to whether or not you wanna add an hour to an already long ass drive.

if ya'll would like to meet up with the louisiana chapters we are willing to have others come we are all family. we meet the friday morning in lafayette at around three in the morning

Not sure yet...I'm working out to see the details if someone else is coming along...I'll definitely let you know man..

Just a warning to those ppl coming in on I-40 through TN and AR... That road SUCKS. There are potholes and stuff EVERYWHERE. I thought I lost a wheel I hit one that was so bad...

Well i can say from my last road trip with my cousin.. the I-40 is better now. I live in nashville and we drove from here to tuscon, az in his grand prix and i dont remember seeing any of those potholes.. the past 2 years i know..they been working on the 40. so if your trip goes through that route..you should be ok to know its better. i even used the 40 last month to hit up my way to rock hill sc and it wasnt bad till you actually hit the nc state area on the other side of the mountains lol.
I plan on going to this.. already gave my employee a heads up that i will need to be gone that weekend. so from the looks of it.. i probably would be leaving on friday around 3pm-ish lol... so if anyone is wanting to wait or roll with me.. *notes i own a gas station.. so means i dont mind providing drinks n ENERGY to make the rest of the drive lol..* pm me or something for the ones going through nashville.. ill get with KangSh1t and see if he is gonna be able to go as well.

My eta will be later then ones coming from bristol/knoxville area unless they wait for me lol

Well map quest tells me the following;

Total Estimated Time: 21 hours 25 minutes
Total Estimated Distance: 1356.79 miles
Total Estimated Fuel Cost: $71.42 / that is hoping my mileage drops to 40mpg with two other people in the car.

God I love my xD .. lol

I plan on leaving Thursday morning from Ft. Lauderdale, so I will likely bump into some of you on Friday on the way in. I may stop in Birmingham for the night on Thursday.

I think we will be leaving thursday morning as well, and heading the western route. Go toward baton rouge then go north straight in. Extra hour on the map search but then i can come home the northern route. Ivan your more than welcome to join in and cruise with. I will be joining the LA chapters and a few others along the way.
