Asylum 6/6/09

Hey guys! I know its a few months away, but this is the preparation time for the trip. We are a good 22 hours away from Tulsa and I wanted to know if anyone else from Florida is going. I know that there are three of us from Orlando planning on going. As soon as Alicia finds a hotel, I will be booking rooms, so I need to know if anyone wants me to book for them as well. In the past they didn't care how many people were in a room. But we did 4 to a room, and it was pretty cheap.

On a side note, I wanted to get an idea of who is going so that we can get the caravan planned out. We were talking about south florida coming up to orlando on wednesday night and driving to Gainesville on thursday and picking them up, and then meeting Jax on the I-75/I-10 exchange. So I wanted to know what everyone's plans were on this.

Hey Florida, When yall get down what time you are leaving out, let me know. I mapquested both from Jacksonville and Bristol to Tulsa and it looks like we will both be traveling thru Memphis at some point. If our travel times are going to put us in the same area around the same time, we can group up and caravan from Memphis on.

im planning on splitting the drive for 2 days. We did Orlando to Tulsa in one straight shot the first time. it was ROUGH!!!

BTW im with Jorge.. I was already thinking lil about it and I was thinking driving thursday to Alabama (10 hours drive) Maybe leave at like 8am and be there at 6pm. Then leave Alabama at like 5am on Friday and be in Tulsa about 3pm.

i think about $2-300 if i remember right...hotel,gas,food w/e else u buy i packing my own food

rooms are $72 a night. If you split it with someone its like $36 a night. I think altogether I spent around $350, but I would say $150-$200 was the week after... so probably about $150 or so for Asylum. I did split the gas with Mike, so that saved some money.

The Cost:

With gas price average around $3.85 a gallon last June. Going to dinner twice, and then all the lil things you buy on the way. Splitting trip 2 way and room 4 way. it came out $350 per person.

Assuming the gas price will stay under $2.00 the trip should be around $250 - $300

we usually double up in the room... so its not so bad... honestly, the trip should cost you around $250 if you get a driving partner, and I would recommend it just cuz of the long drive.

that's a long ride in the saddle man. If I join the p'cola chapter (nearest to me unless we form one in Mobile) I might go. I dunno yet need to see how things are but I would like a little road trip. I don't know how you are planning the routes but probably you are thinking 10 to 65 and 65 to 40? If so stop in Mobile, lots of motels/hotels and I can join up with the caravan. But as I said I am not sure If I can make it but I hope I can.

we are going to sit down with a navigation unit and plan the best way, and probably plan to stop in alabama or something on the way up there and get a cheap hotel room. Definitely going to start planning this in feburary though... right now just getting an idea of where people are and who would be up for this.

if we go like we went last time .. we gonna head towards ATL but take west couple hundred miles before.. join I-20 and head towards Brimingham... and that is 1/2 point of the trip.. then head towards Memphis, TN and from there is straight west through Arkansas on I-40 and then hit OK turnpike straight to Tulsa...

I got hotel for $60 in Birmingham...

I know in Feb I will be making hotel reservations, so if you need me to make you one, and you guys want to get a group of four together, let me know, and I will make it for you.. even if you don't have a group of four, and you just have two or whatever. Just let me know ^_^
