Shawn, I'm envious. As you know, I've been planning my body kit for a long time now and still have not found the funding for it so it is on the back burner. Perhaps I'll be completed by another one of our events. However, the rear bumper of your kit is an addition to mine. I wonder though if a custom one with just a center exhaust could not be done. We shall have to see.

I've also been playing with a spoiler idea:

A bit ricey in appearance but with some hydrolics and gears, it could look rather sweet.

Ok ok, I completely understand what you mean and where you are comming from. To be honest, I don't like it all myself but I didn't know really how to express what I really want.

If you look at the Audi Le Mans Quattro Concept below, the wing comes out of the trunk when needed and then lowers back in when its not. So when the car is sitting still, its as though it didn't have a wing at all.

http://www.diseno-art.com/images/veyron-spoiler.jpg

Now this idea of mine can not be done with the ped. spoiler that scion advertises because you take one cut into them and they'd fall appart. So ideas are welcome now that you know what I'm shooting for.

yeah... they are planning that spoiler on the new audi tt as well, but it only comes out at 70mph to create downforce (something which is not really needed in the rear on fwd cars) if you were to do a motorized conversion, it would cost a lot of money, and you would find zero performance gain! just lettin you know...:|

Unless you want to spend a lot of money on fitment, moulding, paint, and wheels, don't go for a widebody kit. They're a lot of trouble to put on, and finding the right wheels that will fit and look good is a pain.

thank you very much... it is good to see that somebody likes my kit! i need to add some horses to it to make it perform as good as it looks!

and to dj short-e... just lettin you know that you should take into account that widebody kits will have extra install cost because of the fender flares, plus added costs of wheel modifications to fill out that gap created by a wider stance. dont want to crush your dreams, just FYIing that widebodies make care appear more aggresive, but also add up the $$$, and my body kit installation cost enough as it is!

skatg2k3, I see your point with the FWD downfoarce thing, I thought of that after writing down what I did. I know there would be no performance gain, but I just like things extremely different. Sorry about the rice look on the other picture. Perhaps if I would have done something in Flash or Director it would have looked closer to what I ment. Do you really thing it would cost a lot of money if I built it myself? I can do the construction, its the wiring to a switch to open when I want it that has me stumpted.

Oh and your Kaminari Kit looks really nice. I was thinking of it myself but its too nice for scraping underneath.

eeeh.. its not a big thing about the body kit.. its not really high on the agenda anyways.. i got what i wanted which was my audio/video system so im good for now. I might EVENTUALLY do a body kit, but im changing my wheels and installing coilovers first.. i know the widebody is alot of work though.

first of all, if you do it... it will be awsome, and it would be unique, and i would be the first one begging for a video post!

u have to take into account though, that you want it to look good open and closed... so u will need to build at least 2 motors

1. to bring the spoiler up and down
2. another to open and close some kind of custom cut stealth door for the spoiler to come out of

... and add in to that, u will need to custom fabricate all of this, while trying to make it look as clean as possible. i do not want to rain on your parade, just dont cut into your trunk until you think and plan out all your finances...

i want a turbo, but i am not going to just add the turbine, and wait till i figure out how the other parts work/ am able to afford them:sad:

I have the OE lip kit .... but if I had a choice, I'd get one of the following, in this order:

1. Buddy Club 2
2. Kaminari
3. AIT Wide Body

I think the BC2 kit really goes well with the tC, downside is all the BC2 kits for every other car look basically the same ...
The Kaminari kit is arguably the best kit in fitment and styling. Downside for me is its the kit most tC's I've seen actually have.
The AIT WB is actually my personal favorite, but as stated before, it's a p-i-t-a/expensive to "install" and would require a whole new set of wheels and tires to fill the WB gap.

i have to be honest... i am the only person i have seen in jerz with the balls to put anything but the OEM body kit on their car. you see them a lot on the boards, because honestly anyone who loves their car enough to put aftermarket shit on it is obviously an enthusiast (thus hoppin around the sites). i would say about 5% of all tCs are boosted, but on the boards it seems like 50% because the tc/sc guys (and gals) all are on the boards.

thank you for the input skatg2k3, I appreciate it. I've been working out various sketches and such but have yet to get anything concrete that I'll start cutting into my trunk. There'll probibly be three motors total, one for the latch and two for the wing.

If you have any ideas on how to something like this might work, do share. Of course, a wing needs to be found first.

thats functional. any "spoiler" (i prefer wing if its something like that) is not. The car only goes 127. anything u do to improve the aerodynamics with a wing wont help. Sorry man

Not bad, but I think it'd flow better if you'd painted it to go along with bhe body lines. The 2 angles down the side of the hood make it flow better with the actual body of the car.

yes, i know kaminari says their stuff is always 100% perfect....but no it is NOT and yes i have alignment issues with the rear tailights as well. dont get me wrong kaminari has the best quality IMO besides Five Axis. but they are NOT perfect. but good luck getting a body shop or kaminari to ever admit they are anything less than perfect.

I love the clean look of the Kaminari kit and almost got it myself but I wanted the spoiler to go with it too, the Kaminari customer support couldn't even locate the spoiler, so I decided to go with the more aggressive look and go with a widebody kit. Now if my new rims would just hurry up and get here!!!
