ipod help

I need some help getting my ipod to play in my car. I have an 07 tc with the upgraded pioneer head unit. As far as i know, i shoud be able to just plug my ipod into the aux outlet and press the ipod button on my stereo...but that doesn't work. Do i need a specific kind of cord to run from the aux into to the ipod? Thanks for the help

i don't have the upgraded one so I can't help with specifics but on mine...

I plug the ipod in with a cable (one end in the ipod headphone thing and the other end in the aux port in my arm rest)

then I hit the aux button.

there should be a plug next to the aux jack in the armwrest labeled "iPod" and you should have a plug that goes into that port and then on the other end it has a dock connector that you plug into the iPod.

if the upgraded HU didnt come with the car from the dealership then you have to use the aux jack and plug it into the headphone port on the ipod and push the aux/ipod button and control playback via the ipod cause i doubt you would have all the right cables for the iPod specific connection in place.

this is exactly what i am doing. but when i press the "aux/ipod" button NOTHING happens. i dont even think its switching into "aux" mode. i have the newest addition ipod classic if that makes a difference.

You have to control the music through the ipod that way. Make sure the ipod is playing when you plug it in and press aux

But you said you had the upgraded pioneer HU, then you should have a plug that goes into the iPod plug in the glove box and the other end is a dock conector to connector? Then you can control playback from the head unit

I too had a upgraded pioneer HU in my 07, there is an actual ipod connection inside the armrest console. If you have the ipod cable, it should work and be able to be somewhat controlled by the HU. By somewhat I mean basic controls.

yea i just got the upgraded radio and the it doesnt go into Aux or into that mode it kinda sucks but if your saying there is a plug on the radio to connect i will look for it tomorrow
