Damn, I usually don't even get 1 claim involving a Scion each week, and today along I've had 3 different claims where some asshole wrecked his tC. 2 of 'em were in Texas.

I think they are invisible to some drivers. I have never had more people pull out in front of me or almost rear-end me than in this car. Mine is also blue, which seems to just blend in to some people.

I know why...

Because retards keep buying them, thinking they're super cars and then totalling them. Then it :md: the rest of us because they do something stupid and get a brand new car out of it. Suddenly everyone that has one is a retard and will probably do the same thing - poof! Instant rate hike for EVERY tC owner.

That being said, my insurance went down this year. I pay under $1100/yr now - but I do have a very minor accident on there from like 3 yrs ago. It should be disappearing when I renew next year I think. Something like that.

I haven't noticed mine going up. And I also think the TC is hard to see on the road. I get cut off more, and have had a lot of near misses. My driving is not the culprit either. I haven't had any tickets for over 15 years...well I did get one recently. Anyway...

The easiest way to keep from getting cut off is to cut them off first. If they look like they're going for it, you go for it first. Take the bull by the horns and just get it done! Don't be a wimp

pfft... "no passing zone". you ain't cut someone off right unless you pull around them and cut them off on a one way street. Stupid ass people had it comin. Gotta go that extra mile to be an ass and other drivers won't get anywhere near you. Then, and only then, are you truly safe.
My favorite is driving on 4 lanes, 2 way street. I'm in middle lane, the "fast" lane, cruising along, 5-10 over speed limit, in the outside lane, the "slow" lane, they're cruising along 5-10 under the speed limit, we'll call this car A ... so there's an obvious difference there. Car B is wanting to turn, and pulls out into my lane. Now what do you do?

A. Slow down, try not to hit them. This usually ends up in you tailing gating them until they get up to speed. At whch point car A has already caugth up, and now you're boxed in.
B. Swerve into the outside lane, give tem the evil-eye as you pass them and cut them off as you swerve back into the middle lane. This usually ends up with them either not caring, or trying to tail gate you for being a jerk.
C. (this is my personal favorite) Swerve into the turning lane, or oncoming traffic lane, honk your horn when your doors are even and you can give them the evil-eye, then cut them off to get back into your prized middle lane. This will generally end with the other driver getting the fuck away from you cus you're obviously stupid or crazy.

Another of my favorite scenarios is when car A is a POS or ricer POS, in front of you, lanes to both sides. One's an SUV, the other is a minivan. POS/Ricer takes off, but they stop short of the speed limit. At which point I generally cut off either the SUV or the minivan, downshift if possible, then cut the POS/ricer off. Now just like above, on option B, the POS/ricer eiter tails me, or pull up next to me. At which point the passenger will stick his head out and try to yell something at me. Of course either my music is too loud or my windows are up, so I and my passenger just laugh at them. Then they'll want to race. That's when I let them squeel and take off, I make a good, no squeek, but not lazy, take off. When they slow down cus I'm not playing, and passenger sticks his head out of the car again to look back at me, I floor the pedal, CAI and muffler sounds blaring, CAI whistling at full volume as I shift and cut them off again, then procede to duck through traffic just to show him and everyone else between him and me that I'm an asshole. That generally ends it. That's kinda exactly what happened last night actually. :)

YOu take it to a more extreme than I do......I ussually just laugh at htem when they rev at me. It generally pisses them off so much that almost hit someone. I had a POS ricer CRX reving at me on I-5 the other night and when I laughed at his car at pointed to the huge crushed in driver's side, he took off and nearly slammed into the bumper of a huge truck in front of him. I laughed even more at him when I passed him.

I don't condone street racing and I almost never participate but it is just stupid to race when it is raining....really really dark or there is alot of traffic.
