We are having a contest to design the.............

“Scikotics Sanitarium”
T-shirt for the St Paddys weekend

“United by individuality” weekend of shows

Here is the 411:
"Scikotics Sanitarium" is going to be our “east coast/southeast region” big shindig show, and it will be held over the St Paddys day weekend,
Friday March 13th, thru Sunday the 15th, 2009.
We are teaming up with Scinergy who will host their “East Coast Nationals”,
that weekend as well.
The “Scikotics Sanitarium” Show will be held on Saturday March 14th (PM show) with Scinergy’s East Coast Nationals being held on Sunday March 15th a daytime show.

Last year at the St Paddy’s shows we had over 140 scions from 12 states and that was just with us “Scikotics” doing it, and this year is looking to be much bigger and a lot more fun with Scinergy’s involvement. It is amazing what we have put together buy pooling our resources and contacts in the scion community with the sponsors, (and this is in a tough economy) the swag, the fun we will have!!!!!!
We have some major corporate sponsors for this, and not just Southeast Toyota, think about companies like Coca Cola, Delta Airlines, Major Hotel companies etc. This is huge!!!!!!!!!! Not to mention all the aftermarket companies that have signed on and we have more to come that we are working on.

The raffle prizes and auction prizes are going to be awesome!!!!!!!!!:DanseurRouge:




Here is what we are looking for in the shirt design

Has to be “Scikotics Sanitarium” with the Scikotics logo and the “Hannibal man” preferably as an (evil leprechaun)
Has to have a St Patrick’s day Theme & Reference, or Irish theme
Has to include lots of Green, Leprechauns, Shamrocks, rainbow, pot of gold, And a Tornado (in reference to last year)
Has to feature a scion logo/badge
Has to reference Atlanta
Has to have the Date of the Show “March 15th 2009”
Has to have room to include all of the shows sponsors
The color of the shirt will depend on the artwork submitted.

Ok here is the good stuff:
For this contest we will look at all submissions and depending on the number of submissions, I will do a poll on the 3 most popular. So please post opinions, but be nice!!!!! LOL
The top 3 submissions will then be put to the Atlanta Chapter as the “Host chapter” to vote on, as the best representing of “Scikotics”, the show, the theme, Atlanta etc.
In the event it is too close to call it will then go to the Regionals and Blake & Matt to decide the winner.

Prizes:

To the winner……..

If you are in the Southeast/East Coast region and are coming to the show weekend
The prize will be a “Guaranteed” “Golden Ticket” to drive your ride in the 127th annual Atlanta St Patrick’s day Parade down Peachtree Street with 44 other Scions in front of 400K people, TV, (abc, CNN, Irish TV, etc.),
dignitaries from around the world etc.

(Atlanta’s St Paddys parade is ranked #6 in the country.)

If you are not in the SE region where you can bring your ride, I will guarantee you a seat or a ride in the parade if you were to fly in, more than likely in one of the Envy Greens that will be leading the Parade for Scion.
(It is St Paddys day and the greens will be in front)

If you are the winner from another region and can’t make the shows, then the winner will receive a “Scikotics Banner” for yourself or your chapter, and some cool commerative Scion and St Paddys Swag from the events.

1st & 2nd Runner ups will also receive cool “Swag Bags” from the shows

Here is a sketch I did on paper and then scanned in.. I know its not that good, but right now I am at work so I am not at home to put it into Corel. I will work the design in Corel later where I can add color, proper lines and details and shadowing... anyway at the very least here is my first concept.. just throwing it out there.. also not sure what to do with the tornado reference.. anyone care to fill me in? that might help me incorporate it into the designs...

Tornado hit the area last year during the festivities in the evening. FYI, Scikotics show is Saturday, the 14th. Love the Scikotic leaprauchan (is that spelled right?). You added bushy eyebrows, don't know why but they always seem to have that, nice touch.

I'm playing with a concept using the RS5.0 xB as the gold in the pot, still trying to get it looking right. Would only work if it is in color.

The circular building in the background skyline is the westin hotel, it sustained the most damage from the tornado in downtown ATL and is still not fixed. Thats an awesome sketch. If there is a way to incorporate a tornado behind the skyline, I think that would look sick!

Ok here is the final version of my first concept.. like i said i first sketched it on paper, which you see listed in this thread.. then i did it in paint for rough lines.. didnt post that one.. then the final version in Corel which is included here... i think this captures the requested images and design... let me know what you think.. and in case anyone is wondering Rancid Raven Ink® is my graphics and tattoo design studio. fyi if this is chosen by some chance i have it saved on my pc in bmp format which would be better for usage in setting up the print for shirts since its cleaner.

Might be cool to blacken some of the Buildings windows like this to show the tornado damage which still isnt fixed, I guess they dont make the glass anymore and they are going to have to redo the whole building and also do other things to bring it up to code due to some structural damage the building actually shifted from the tornado

can always remove the rainbow all together, i was kinda concerned about putting it in because it looked odd.. but it was one of the things mentioned on the list for potential add items since it was St. Patty's.

I would suggest losing the rainbow. If these are silkscreened each color adds to another screen that will be needed and it will drive up cost and production time. If these are thermal transfer it won't be a problem.

I would say keep the green / gold / red as the color scheme.

Because of so few entries The atlanta chapter commitee decided to not run a poll and made an executive decision

The submissions we had were great and it was tough to call a single winner

So it was decided that we actually had a Tie for the winner and then the Idea came up to use both of the Tied winners artwork and do a two sided shirt.

Man those designs look cool, sorry I didnt get to go back and redo my design and remove the rainbow and put in something better. I was going to try to replace it with two anime style chicks on either side and an evil four leaf clover :P oh well congrats to the winners :) I am just glad to be a runner up :) thanks.. wonder what a swag bag will contain? *small request* any chance I can have a shirt from the event as part of it please? :)
