someone made a post about installing one i a 2cnd gen i think. said it workd for a couple of days then everything went back to normal... r computers learn that something isnt right and correct for it so the chips wont last long.

Yea, Scions can't be "chipped". You can buy piggyback or standalone ECU's, but there are no "chips" that work in our cars. Like Chad said, if you install the chip on your car, even if it does give you some benefit initially, the car's ECU will compensate for it in a short time and you will end up with no overall benefit. I'd get my money back if I were you.

I just did a little search on this item and it appears like this is a typical e-bay variant of a "performance chip". What it really is, is a resistor that goes between your MAF sensor and your ECU. It adjusts the signal the ECU is seeing and makes the car run a little lean. It may help initially a bit, but in the long run, the ECU will compensate for it. Yes, it is in a box with wires, but the same effect can be had by going to Radio Shack, buying a resistor for under a dollar, and wiring it in. Sorry man.

Those "performance chips" are nothing but a egay scam.
