i would say the biggest mod you can do is rims or lower. people notice that right away. but its up to you.

if you want to start with cheap mods

paint engine cover - cost a can of spray paint
Clear corners - cost a tube of RV silicone
change gauge plate - 30 bucks from chadfo at scionlife
leds

but I agree with tim drop and wheels biggest mod you can do right away.

drop & wheels. +1

choose carefully, the wheels make the biggest statement too. it took me 6 months to pick the right ones.

I agree wheels and drop best first mod.. thats what i did and it makes a differnce. Once u start a mod its over cause u end up wanting everything else done too. Post up pics when u get ur new car

Hello all!

I just got my XA a few weeks ago and after going to my first scion show I am planning my out my mods to come. My question is this, I want to do both new rims (17s) and a drop (1" to 1.5"), should I do them in a particular order? First wheels then the drop? or the other way around? Does it matter for ease or fit?

I got the wheels before the drop. I started off with 17's and now rollin' 18's. The drop was more noticeable with the 18s but that was just my liking. what kinds rims r u getting

Right now my plan is to get some 17" Tenzo R Overdose rims in silver to match my paint.

Im still not sure what suspension set up to go with yet. I would like some drop, but not too much, I have an insanely steep drop off on my driveway, and after not being able to park in the driveway with my previous lowered car, I kinda enjoy the convience of parking there. As for ride, its my commuter, so a softer ride would be nice, but not sloppy. I definatly have some more research ahead of me on this one.

Thanks for the input,

how is the drive on airbags compared to just a lowered suspension

well for me it was a pain because they had leaks and ide have to press the button every minute or so..... but its really comfortable

the coil over suspension has about the same ride as air bags to me

but i like being able to drop my car when i was parking and raise it up when i was driving...it was sweet. llol

If cost is no option do wheels then drop.

If money is tight do the reverse set of springs used will run you 80 bucks new 150 bucks

Fitment will matter if you are trying to do like a 15x8 or 19+ depending on offset and sidewall of tire.

Airbags should be considered if you don't mind a little maintence. They have their plus and minuses.
As far as ride from what I know there is no difference for me.

I lowered mine first. The very first mod I did. I enjoyed it so much. Now I have rims, and I think I need a camber kit for it. Not sure why. It may be my tire size. Anyone know why?
