I finally got my stereo installed but still have some small detail work and redo the vinyl job on the box since it didn't stay glued down in areas :( . I was in such a hurry to get it done before Spookfest that I rushed it where I could......but shouldn't have.
The box was made by Elemental Designs, I did everything else. :kid:

Oh that was yours. I love it :loveit: I want a w6 for my car but a 10w6 is 299.00 ouch. Are both amps powering the sub.

$299 is cheap for a 10w6, unless you guy it online, in which case you don't get any warranty, and jl warranty will cover anything that happens, regardless of fault

I want that battery cover. Actually I need that cover. The car will be on display at World Finals in KC this month next to my Maxima. How did you bend that plex? Can you hook me up?

It sounds wonderful but not very loud although it is balanced with the rest of the system, I'm guessing cause the distortion is so low compared to others. Maybe I just like bass alot more than I thought....two would be better! :D
Yeah I bought two JL amps cause I got a good deal on them from a friend. I had planned on using them but they are really heavy(where I mounted them I was afraid they'd pull out) and I'd have to cut up my stock window trim on both ends for wiring and mount the amps sideways. The MTX amps spec'd out nearly identical, have internal fans and mounted horizontally with ALL connections on one end. Plus they are the right color scheme for my car...... :kid:

No....just the one on the drivers side. It is my old MTX Thunder 3202(2 or 1 channel amp), I had a brand new Thunder 3404(4,3,2,1 channel amp) in there but it blew up the first time I turned it on  , its being warrantied and will go back in when I get it back. The other amp is a Thunder 3404 running in 4ch mode to my midbasses and tweeters. :c8l:

how long did this project take
It took me about 3 weeks, but I worked on it slowly off and on cause the weather got cold. It could be done alot quicker if you had everything you needed and the time to work on it. Chasing down parts when you don't know what your looking for really eats up alot of time.
If your talkin about just the battery cover.....it only took a couple of days.

....but yours = sexier. I'm debating ripping mine apart and making something else around the parts since the Tsunami one is a bunch of cheap flexible plastic :(

Thanks Chris for modifying the box design to one for my JL sub, I think the extra walls inside are acting as additional bracing because this box doesnt really have any sound/resonances of its own.....thats awsome ! :kid:

yeah, the w6 seems to have low output for rap, but for rock, metal, and my SQ cd's it seems just right, i don't listen to rap as much anymore anyways so it doesn't bother me, i do intend on adding another w6 on the other side of the hatch, and my amp can push up to 3 of them so i'm good on power, i just don't feel like dropping the mony for another fiberglass enclosure
