Hey Yall,
Greetings from Boxzila your regional MFIC from the SouthEast.
With Hurricane Gustav Bearing down & I see on the news that it is looking like a dead on hit for alot of yall and evacuations are iminnent..
Please know the Southeast's prayers and thoughts are with yall in the coming days.
That being said.
I wanted to let you know that I have spoken with the Chapters of Birmingham AL, Atlanta, GA, Valdosta GA, Chattanooga TN, and Greenville SC.
and the Southeast region is here to help yall out if needed.
Anyone who gets evacuated or needs to get out & doesnt have a place to stay, or the money for hotels, motels etc. Yall are welcome to come up here and stay for a few days to ride the storm out. As I said we have from Alabama to SC covered and everyone has said that yall are welcome.
Alot of us have spare rooms, sofabeds, etc.
Pretty much its a 6-8 hour drive for yall to any of these areas
We are all one Sciko Family at the end of the Day and we want yall be be safe.
If anyone needs to do this please PM myself
Or the H's of the Chapters I mentioned above and well work to get yall taken care of and help out anyway we can
Peace out, Be Safe & God Bless

My landlord said, "It's our heritage to stay and ride out the hurricane!" I kinda feel the same way, its a Louisiana thing, Hurricane parties, Kerosene Lamps, Playin cards by candlelight, sittin on the porch or under your carport and watchin the "big blow". Its just something we do! lol

I second that, i am not from La but a lot of my family is, an living in florida is the same. Bring it, hurricane party. Over the past years i seem to attract the little ones that kill your power for a couple of days and all it does is rain and blow. I have become a big fan of camping fans, led lights, and backgammon.
Heck i was so bored last hurricane, Fay i took my old car battery, then grabbed my converter and hooked my t.v back up for some good ole quality tube time.
You guys hunker down and stay safe. Prayers are with you and hope your family and friends are safe as well.
And rem your sicko's are out there anything you guys need we got ya. Heck push comes to shove will grab the boat and come save you guys, just have to put the scion emblem on the boat first so we can ride in style.

Thanks guys and gals. If I would have looked at this sooner, i would have come just to meet others. It is not that bad right now where i am. The wind is off and on gusty and the heavy rain has not made it to my house yet. I am expecting it a little later today. I will be upset if I do not see Jim Cantorie holding on to a tree with his feet flapping in the wind. Nonetheless you Sickos are awesome. Thanks for offering.

well I think I 've heard from just about everybody in the chapter and all seems well. I lost two trees and had some siding damage but nothing to extensive. cell phones work when they want to. and I'm actually sending this from my phone. they are saying it could be two weeks before power is 100% restored. we had 3 lines down by the house so I'm sure it'll be a while before our power's back on :-( if anyone needs to get in touch the cell number is 225_278_7711. I'll try to keep updating as I can.

Man...whew...according to the news the Zachary area got hit the worst... I had a couple small trees not make it and some shingles off the roof(which made it leak) but thats about it. No cell phone service or power out by my house...about half way back towards port allen the cell starts working again. I'm at "work" now...
FYI there are distribution centers set up around town...the Baker wal-mart and the wal-mart on seigen, they have Ice, food and tarps...
Glad y'all are ok, I was worried about all the BR pple, seems y'all got it pretty bad. I'm in Mansfield and tryin to see if anyone in New Iberia has power but regardless I think I'm gonna head home later on and start cleanin up. Not lookin forward to cleanin out the freezer and fridge but that tree in my back yard should be fun. Anyone want some cedar?? lol

glad to hear yall are okay! i was in BR but at the hospital working since saturday lockdown, activation team. it was completely insane. got to see the winds and rain and actually go outside. WOW! the hospital got its share of damage, lost power pretty quickly, 3rd floor windows blew out, atrium roof glass broke, floors were actually sweating from the heat, and the heat in the hospital was like a sauna. my dept was in the 90s and other floors above us were hotter. oh yeah, showered in the morgue. definitely a last resort but anything you were wearing was stuck to you so at that point it didnt matter. i was finally able to leave yesterday evening when the recovery team for my dept showed up and headed to dallas because i couldnt go home. BR hang in there!!! im ready to head home myself.
