Mainly for manuals but Lucifer (SROTM) has one on his auto and says he feels a difference.

You get used to it. Idle is rougher also.

The tq damper connects the engine usually to the fire wall and since the vibrations from the motor go directly through it to the firewall you will notice more noise and increased vibrations. Ive thought about getting one but it would have the same effect of having a solid rear engine mount and basically all it is doing is resisting the force of the engine to rock backwards under acceleration. At idle and most lower engine speeds you will notice it because you are usually stationary during those moments but as you drive with it you wont notice it at all while your driving. you could opt for it or for stiffer motor mounts.
