I know my way around most cars, but I'm new when it comes to Toyota/Scion engines. Like most people who just bought a 2007 tC, I want to buy some go-fast parts. First and formost is the cold air intake. I've seen posts made about them, and everyone of them says something about an 06 cai won't fit an 07, yet there's disagreement. So, what I'm respectfully requesting is someone of good Scion tC knowledge, perhaps one who works at Scion or a dealership to answer.

Simply put, will an Injen, K&N, AEM, or other cold air (not short ram) intake fit properly (ie, no extra "modification") on a 2007 tC? If not, why? Like I said, I'm dumb when it comes to Toyota motors, so please don't use acronyms. If you must, please let me know what it stands for.

Reason I'm asking is there's a guy on ScionLife who wants to sell me a K&N typhoon for $200 that he used on his 06. He claims that when he bought it through Crutchfield (which I thought only sold electronics) it would fit an 07. I don't want to get ripped off.

And if anyone knows where I can get an intake that is made for the 07, please let me know. I've looked at AEM, Injen, and K&N's sites, and all they have is for cars up to 2006. Thanks, and sorry to be teh dumb n00b.

It will NOT fit for the life of the matter. The 06 and below MAF is much larger and bulkier than the 07. go to trd sparks and contact ken. As of now injen is the only intake with an 07 fit out and ken posted something about it on yoursciontc.com

It's not about fitment, it's about a change in the electronics in the '07 models. The MAF sensor was changed to a smaller, more compact model. The only intake right now that will accept it is the new Injen CAI.

and 200 for a used intake is insane when you can get injen ones for like 260 new if not a bit cheaper
