i am gutting my ENTIRE scion. I have the Stinger carpet liner , the Roadkill Extreme Bulk packs, and even the Stinger overkill door panel sound dampening foam. Creating this thread to post picks as the project unfolds. I got a new custom sub box for the trunk and will bw making a custom amp rack that will house the amps in the floor of the trunk.
Got new door panels to change the tweeter setup and even found awesome focal tweeters that have a unique mount that lets me aim the tweeters right at my face.
So between now and spring thats the project. Hope you all enjoy, feel free to ask any questions.
also i am having kaminari have a local shop(to them) paint and ship me a new front bumper as the old one got a shoddy paint job and cause i wacked it too. so ill be posting pics on how to take that off.
any interest in seeing the progress chronicled?

try putting fans in the amp rack. i have two on each rack in mine trunk setup. one to blow in and one to blow out. my amps have never overheated even in the FL weather. i wired mine to the amps' remote wires and then used the same grounding bolt on the rear strut for the amps and all fans back there.

47569therear of the seat has 2 bolts 16mm . thankfully is was not 15 mm since the set of socket i bought skips 15mm

47570the front has 2 of these single bolts

47571careful as when you lift the seat up this wire is connecting 2 connectors

47572
and here they are

47573onto the rear seats. behind the seats are several bolts. using a trim toom pry the plastic piece covering the bolt.

scion1403
02-19-2012, 03:36 PM
47574
this is a 10mm bolt although you could use the torx bit if you want

47575the small carpet sheld is held on by these bolts

47576in the rear are the tie downs take them out to to get entire trink lining out
47577i keep all items removed in small boxes for ease of finding

scion1403
02-19-2012, 03:44 PM
47578
one of the bolts, for the rear seat back. since i know i would be doing this i lubed them up last time so they came out easy

47579
you really dont have to take out the seat belts anywhere else but on the rear sear you have to take out the center seat belt bolts in order to remove the seats

47580

47581
after removing the panel , you see i had already dynamatted some around the speaker. im probably removing the speakers though, been thinking about kick panels but not sure

scion1403

47582
onto the center console. they pull of just do it gently, watch for the cigarette lighter plug

47583
i always take pics of screws before i take them out just so if i forget, i have a reference. i dont often have the time to get projects done rapidly so weeks can pass before i get back to them
47584
in the armrest console, pull back the carpet piece to find the 2 bolts(below)
47585

scion1403
02-19-2012, 03:53 PM
47587
ok back up front. now that all the seats and consoles are out. time to pull up the carpet. there is this ultra thick and dense styrofoam watch not to break that. and the shredded fabric stuff which im trhowing out.
47588now along the doors the carpet is secured by plastic snaps which have been a favorite wire anchor of mine in the past.
47589
just be careful as the carpet breaks easily
47590to the rear where the carpet goes under the back seats pry up the plastic snaps.

47591
this is the bolt holding the fuel door release in place. you need to remove it to get the front carpet up
47592
just be careful of the release cable
47593
walla carpet out. the amount of stuff under and in between the consoles and the seats is crazy
47594this is whats underneath, ill be throwing out the foam you see

scion1403

i am a fan of quick disconnects for the tweeters makes door removal a lot easier
47596here is the tap to pry back to access the screw holding the door handle on

47597

47598
take the cover off the arm rest

scion1403
02-19-2012, 04:13 PM
47599

47600
with the trim piece off remove the 2 bolts holding the door on

47601
if you ever dynamat the doors youll find that the factory snaps no longer fully connect if at all. after years of searching for other ways i settled on black plastic rivets. they do the job bette than the factory pins, and are cheap and dont look to bad
47602
just drill them out

47603
and pry them out

scion1403
02-19-2012, 04:18 PM
i wont need the fans as my amps wont be completely buried just sunk into the carpet the heat sinks will be open to the air.

scion1403
02-19-2012, 04:26 PM
47604the inner layer of sheet metal has already been vibration dampened, now the outer skin will be to as well as the door panel itself with stinget overkill

47607

47605that is the crossover for the door speakers

47606and this is why i had to make the speaker trim rings. the speaker is really deep and would not fit otherwise.

47608
i find it very helpful to keep everything i take out in bins if possible
47609
wires
47610
and even all the tools i used during removal
47611especially all the caps and buttons etc

47614

47617

47618
this is the subwoofer box custom made for the scion TC by supercrew sound
47619
see how it even has divets to fit the scions interior protrutions. it fits with no gaps

47620
this is a roll of EXPEL carbon fiber looking vinyl. it is very high quality and identical to meguiars new stuff. actually expell isnt the original both xpell stuff and meguiars is actually 3M

after months of forum searching for a bettter tweeter imaging solution. i fonally found these babies. if you look at the shape of the mounting cup. it PERFECTLY matches the slope of the scion tc das and allows you to aim the tweeters anywhere you want without buying new apillars or anything.

scion1403

next step is installing the FAT MAT roll of vibration dampener. i would LOVE to use the scikotics friends second skin...but for the 100 sq feet of product im buying im payting 139.99 vs 300.00+ from them. even if the product is 10 times better, its going either under the carpet pad or in non critical areas. i have used DYNAMAT, ROADKILL and FATMAT and i goot be honest with an calibrated SPL meter ther is no difference. so im gonna go with 140.00 vs 300.00 plus sorry guys.

once that roll gets here will post instructional pics and any issues i run into. after that its carpet pad time and then i have decided to COMPLETELY REWIRE the entire system.
