TRD xD short shifter kit question

Has anyone else bought this and installed it themselves? I was wondering because the Toyota instructions are unclear and kinda confusing. Taking the kotter pins off the shift linkage is easy its the rear clips I cant get off, and is the bracket that comes with the kit a must to put on? The NST kit doesn't use a replacement bracket. Any info is appreciated.

if im not mistaken you have to use a screw driver to twist the clips and when you get it twisted hold it with your fingers and then pull the clips out. its a pain but i got my done and it didn't take much time at all. that was the hardest part of the instal

I got it now. I used some Craftsman auto adjusting pliers with rubber caps to not mess up the clips. Just squeeze and move it side-to-side until they come off. The hardest part is getting to the bracket bolts.

So you got it figured out? How much different does it feel do you like it?

I love it. When shifting before it felt as if there was a foot(12"s) between the gears. Now its nice and short just the way it should have been from the factory. I had to get this SSK. I had one in the tC and the long throws were driving me nuts.
