I just bought an 2006.5 xB and have noticed that it has a slight hesitation just off idle. When stoped at a light or stop sign, as I take off it will hesitate or bogg down for a couple seconds. Its not every time but most of the time. I does not matter if the engine is warm or cold. What do you guys think?

Thanks
Marcus

Manual or Auto?

My 06 does this too. I always assumed it was me not paying attention and slipping off the clutch without enough gas or some other combo like that.

I have an 06.5 manual and I used to get this a lot and thought it was just me. Since getting my intake and crank pully I have not noticed it nearly as much.

i notice it when turning from a stop. And it was more noticable after i installed a short ram intake

There is some slack left in the throttle body cables from the factory that many people remove. I took the extra slack out of mine and noticed a little improvement.

It is an Automatic. I do have a short ram intake. I is well over a 100 degrees here in OKlahoma right now. Someone else said it might be the air conditioner dragging down the engine. I will try driving with out it and see.

Well I drove to the car wash with no AC and it seemed to help. The first take off from the drive way it still bogged down, but after that I could not get it to do it anymore. I'll see tomorrow when drive to work with the AC on.

Somebody said something about some pullys may help? What are they and what do thay do?

:thanks:

Is there a hissing noise coming out from the engine compartment? Did you check for a vacuum leak? Check for an unplugged or cracked vacuum line. My .02. Good luck

No hissing noise other than that made by my short ram air intake.

I disconected the battery and pulled the fuses to the computer for an hour to reset things. This seems to have helped so far. Something must have gotten out of wack and needed to be reset. I will drive it over the weekend and see.

Well the A/C is likely the problem as our vehicles were equipped with a variable swash plate in the compressor. It that increases or decreases the load on the motor depending on demand. From a dead stop where there is no demand from the motor so the A/C is at full bore to going where you need all the motor you can get there will be a small slice of time for response of the A/C compressor lightening it's load.

The Crank pully is all about rotational mass. They put big heavy pullys on the crank so that small differences in acceleration of the motor will be dampened because a heavy pully resists accel/deceleration where a lighter crank pully accelerates and decelerates with a lot less effort and the end result is better throttle responce and a few more ponies output to the wheel versus getting sucked into moving the heavy pully.
