So today i was replacing my compressor for my bags and i got everything working right, but now my speakers aren't coming on any more. For those of you that don't know my system is built around my tank, so i was working around my system all afternoon. Now i don't know if i messed up a ground somewhere or if i blew something out. My headunit is a dead head so the amp that pushes my speakers powers my HU. The HU works fine and the subs work fine, but i get no sound out of any speaker. Any guesses on what the problem could be would be greatly appreciated. I have to drive home this weekend for break and it's gonna be a long 7 hours with no music.

You may have caused a short, or overload by working around it and accedently crossing wires or whatnot. Depending on the amo, my old audiobahn had a mute circuit inside of it as one of the overload protections and one day while I was messing with my HU (also powered from my amp) i heard a soft "pop." I then found that everything still had power, but there was no signal. I eventually found out when i took it to a local Audio repair Specialist and he showed me and showed me hos to fix it in the future.

Always check the simplist things first.

-Did you disconnect the leads that run to your mids and highs ?
-Does your amp have seperate fuses for each channel.
-Subs are working, do they work off the same amp?
-If so, worse case scenario, switch the mids and highs with the sub and enjoy music on the way home with no subs, a better altrernative at least.

the subs run off a seperate amp. The weird thing is i'm not seeing that the amp that powers my speakers is even on, but i know it powers my headunit so it has to be on? i didn't touch any speaker wires or anything while i was working. I hope i can figure this out i really don't want to have to drive home with no music.

ok, i fixed it. It was a blown fuse. Guess i shoulda started with the simple stuff.
